I have done the stuffed Jalapenos before. We have done pit beef or ham, grilled pizzas, Hot Italian Sausage, chicken and shrimp. We try to change it up every year. As for beverages we always go with the sodas, Coronas and Red Stripe.

Red Stripe, now that is a good beer to change things up with. I haven't had one since my honeymoon in Negril, Jamacia. I drank more draft Red Stripe to last me a while. Great choice to very things up at a JB concert.

Last year in Chitown, a guy pulls up whips out the propane deep fryer and proceeds to filet and batter and cook about 100 lbs of fresh fish....he fed everybody. Never seen that before, only problem was we had about an inch of grease on our windshield with dust stuck to it for the ride back to the hotel...

I thought I died and went to heaven when I went to Jamaica the first time and I asked the bartender for a Red Stripe and he handed me one in a frosted mug.

I just soak a couple of cans of pineapple chunks in Parrot Bay the night before the show. Use fancy umbrella toothpicks and you have a pina colada on a stick!

I was popping them in people's mouths as they passed our tailgate last year at GW!

Absolutely, positively must spike a watermelon with vodka, coconut rum or anything that tastes good with juicy, succulent watermelon. After a few slices, you look like this:
This reminds me- has anyone had any success with spiking a whole watermelon? I'm talking about the method where you drill a couple holes in a watermelon and stick in upturned bottles.

A friend of mine tried this and said it was total failure. Apparently when he did it, all the booze soaked into the few inches of fruit immediately surrounding the neck of the bottle and didn't distibute evenly throughout the rest of the melon.

Anyone ever manage to pull this off?

go to a place where you can get turkey fryer and meat smoking supplies
than get a large injection needle ( a vet supply and a horse needle will work) do not repete do not just cut a hole in it just use the needle
to spread the booze around and keep the melon on ice after no more than over nite as the booze starts to turn the melon to mush if you leave it in there too long  8)

We bring soda, water as well as the Heavy stuff. After the show, we sit back have a cool one. When security happens by we offer them soda or water. As long as You are cool they have never been nasty. Then we wait till the traffic slows down before we start our cars. I've seen cars just sit there for half an hour not moving. what a waste of gas.

Bob Marley Jamaican Jerk Chicken

No.

The best I've found is to marrinade rather than cut a hole & stuff a bottle. Halve the melon lengthwise, cut 2 lengthwise slits from the center to the rind (like a pie when viewed from the end of the melon) and "baste" the melon. If you scoop a little melon out down the center, you get a puddle that gradually soaks in over about an hour.

But the pineapple in Malibu sounds like a winner to me - simple, tasty, quick - the hallmark of winner tailgating.

My personnal biggest success is Bob Marley Jamaican Jerk Chicken. My crew annually **command** me to produce it - they've even banned cheeseburgers!! Heretics, I know, but it is sooooo good, fast, easy to grill, and did I mention it tastes great? And if you're busy downing an upside down margarita and it gets a little charred - that's exactly what you want!! Here's a tip - marinade overnight in huge ziplocs, toss in cooler, then on the grill.

Originally from FoodTV, but you can get the recipe from http://www.recipegoldmine.com/ccB/b106.html (skip the yucca fries for tailgating)

We fire up a propane grill after the show & grill a couple brats, but the beverage is virgin margaritas. It takes over an hour at Alpine to get out, so our motto is don't even try, have phun. And security is cool if you are. (Kudos, Brian!)
