It is a good thing that I don't hate anyone.........there are differences for sure, sometimes it is just better to not say anything......so with that being said, I decided not to vote

Since you are doing your best to be indiscreet, I suppose I'll take the bait and respond, although I don't necessarily think this entire thread is entitled to any response whatsoever.

Gumby- to clarify, I believe I asked once if you "were trying to be the biggest a**hole ever?" My question came after you once again ridiculed and berated another poster for one of the many reasons you choose to ridicule and berate. Sometimes you get after out of towners for not knowing enough about the Chicagoland area (traffic, directions, names of venues, camping areas, the old name of the Tweeter center, etc ) Or you criticize people for drinking, as you put it, p*ss water Miller... when you drink Coors  (which is still a mystery to me) Or you do you absolute best to rain on anybody's parade that are sharing their excitement. Whatever the subject or topic, you seem to take pleasure in being critical...that you go as far out of the way as possible to mock and belittle. It's not that the responses are innate...it's that you make a concerted effort all the time to be the biggest and most obnoxious jerk you can be. As wrong or right as it is, my assessment is that you are the epitamy of the statement "misery loves company"...

So mind you, I was only asking if you were trying to be an a**hole. I too know that you have done very nice things for people, and that at times you have been very generous to people around here...but you put the a**hole moniker upon yourself, and I was curious to know to what extent you were consciously trying to uphold it. That's all really...

I'm not sure if you're an a**hole or not because I'm relatively unfamiliar with your posts. Speaking from personal experience, I've had an enjoyable stay here until some of my posts in another thread were misinterpreted, which goes to show there's a lot to be said for what someone said earlier in this thread about that aspect of the internet. I will probably always visit here but I frequent other forums where opposing viewpoints are not only well received but encouraged so I am less likely to visit here as much as I have in the past only because I find the atmosphere much friendlier in those other forums.

I find this ironic because I haven't found a nicer place than BN, but I've found many that were unfriendly. I guess it all depends on the subject matter, how opinionated you are, and how open you are to other opinions.

He is probably talking about me actually. I won't go into details but I do not hold a grudge, he explained his position and clarified. I actually enjoy reading his posts about various musical happenings.

And Kitty pointed out body language and yes, it is hard to know what someone means by words ONLY as opposed to seeing their face and body language.

So Jahfin don't stay away cuz you and I didn't see eye-to-eye once. You explained, I understand, it's fine!
