The Weather is Here...

I got up this morning and had to come in to work. A little guilty pleasure, but I always check the discussion board here at BN first. Has anyone else noticed the high level of negativity going on? “Worst song ever”, “Why not my town”, “Ticketmaster (nuf sed)”, “Why country”, “Willis or Willie” (I even joined that one), and the rant of the 16 year old (wait until that’s his boss and co-worker he’s talking about).
On the way in to work I was listening to A-1-A and nearly lost my voice. It is 50 degrees, the sun is out and it promises to be one of those Chamber of Commerce days.
So I am here to tell you I am thankful.
I am thankful for such a beautiful day, even if it means I have to look out the window to experience it. If we were under 2 feet of snow, I would be thankful that I am not too old to sled (42 and counting). If it were raining, I would be thankful that I don’t have to use the sprinklers and my lawn would still be green. I am thankful for this forum that allows us to tell people how we feel.
But, I am most thankful that Jimmy has not retired. We might not like every song, but when he stops playing them, well, I don’t even want to think about that!
So, I hope you all have a great day and enjoyed my positive post.

Thanks for the positive post! Are the temps in Charlotte going to climb another 20 degrees before April 24?!?

Yeah I remember the days when I was grateful and feeling good. I'm sure they'll return someday.

The temps will be in the 70's by the end of this week. There's a saying in the Carolinas: If you don't like the weather, just wait until tomorrow. About 2 weeks ago we a high of 78 degrees and 2 days later the high was 46.

Yup, I've noticed it too. This too shall pass. Like when the tour starts. Ya can't please everyone all the time. Concentrate on the good stuff, just like you're doing.

Someday

It's Sunday and I'm needing a fix to fight the pollen that seems to be deeper than any snow drift. Watching the sun slowly rise on my drive to work all I could think was STRESS!!! What a mess!!!!! Maybe I should go to church and confess?????? But wait it can't all be that bad can it? Come Monday I'll be sleeping late again fighting off that pollen hangover. Come Monday Uconn will be 40 minutes away from number 1! Come Monday we will all be talking baseball again. Come Monday that old sun will rise slowly in the east and it will only be 17 days until my sails take me west to Tampa...
Someday I will but for now I'm here until I'm there.
I see a flying boat
and I get a lump in my throat
and I say Someday I Will
Someday
So whatever thrills you
Anything you love to do
Just say someday I will

What a warm and refreshing post to wake up to this morning, JTrevisol! You're right, we all should be more appreciative for the things we love, but all too often take for granted.
For years now, people have speculated on when Jimmy will [you know what]. Well, something keeps that old man goin' and I'm am ever grateful for each new tour (country flavored or not!).
...It's a beautiful, sunny day here in Madison. I think spring is officially here!

I assume you mean me, as I’m the only 16 year old around here who spoke of my age recently. I apologize that I added to the negativity, I just had to get that off my chest last night. Believe me Jtrevisol, I hate negative things, I would love to have a 100% positive life, but the world we live in just doesn’t allow that.
About the workplace comment. I get told the same thing so many times. I know all jobs come with their problems and I expect that. But should listening to music at night include them also?
Anyway, about the weather. Its quite a nice day in my area of the Sunshine State.

Cheesehead, it was the hardest thing for me to type the "R" word.
Parrot Monkey, true, it was your post that got me thinking. As I said, I am thankful that we have this forum to get those things off our chest, that goes for everyone, positive or negative. This is what is great about freedom of expression.
I definitely don't have a 100% positive life, as I also said, I am here at work and not getting paid any more than if I was sitting at home reading the Sunday paper. But my point was that I may not like being here, I may not like my boss, I may not like that my dog is going blind, I may not like the latest single, but I am not going to dwell on those things. I am thankful for what I do have. I am thankful that I get to see the man at least 1 more time (in 20 days!!!!!). And I am thankful that you wrote your post and didn't take out your anger physically. That is also a positive thing.
I grew up in Florida. Even rainy days are "another sh***y day in paradise".
Above all, keep listening to JB. I am 42 and it p*** off my neighbor so much he called the cops on me. FOR LISTENING TO JIMMY! I told him that he should be glad I don't listen to Metallica!!
Life's short, live it well.

Ya know.....Maybe it's just cause we're all so anxious for the better weather....concerts, or whatever...but you're right...and guess there are alot of us that are guilty.....
So like Auntie said...lets try n concentrate on the postive things that are happening in our lives and the positive things that are already in our lives...
I actually kind of opened KLC w/a Thank someone today...so maybe we should all try n do that....

I'm sitting here drinking my coffee, reading BN, and am thinking today is gonna be a GREAT day.
The posts are positive, I'm migraine free this morning, and the day is cloudy, but not raining (which it's been doing the past few days).
Thanks for keeping the morning positive on this PALM Sunday day!

AMEN

Any day that is headache free is a beautiful day for me too!
Great posts, everyone
should stop and count their blessings,
and give thanks for what they have, instead of what they don't have
or what might be.
I come here to escape the negativity of the world.
Lately thats been hard to do. Jtrev is abolutely right
there has been a lot of negativity here lately. Makes
me reconsider what I'm doing here at times!
We all have a common bond that draws us here, lets keep it fun!
HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY
PHINS UP!

I thought that is why all of listen to Jimmy and live the "ParrotHead" life style
to help us escape all the negativity in the world and in our daily lives.
Keep up the Happy Thoughts!

thank you for your post...it is alwasy easy to jump on the negative band wagon...but just as easy to be drawn in to the positive vibes as well. I have way too much in my life to be thankful...I have many more blessings than I probably deserve....but I try never to take that for grante...and I am thankful each day for my good fortune.
But, I beleive life is what you make of it...you do have a choice! Make today the best it can be...so cliche, but basic truth!
Although today is pouring rain and snow is expected tonight...I am thankful that I do not have to work and was able to go bowling with my family!
