Live Recordings! Bootleg Buffett?

I just bought two CD's on ebay. I couldn't believe it, both were LIVE albums from previous Buffett concerts at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. I have no idea how this guy was able to get his hands on "bootleg Buffett" (I don't really care!). I only paid $12 for each CD.

This guye listed concerts from many different venues and dates (maybe even your very first concert?) I'm not sure how "legal" this is or what the sound quality is, but new Buffett material is always exciting!

I'll post a follow up to let you know what I think of the quality. If anyone else has purchased similiar music in the past, feel free to add your comments. I'm really excited! I hope I'm not disappointed.

i have never bought any jimmy buffett concerts on ebay. i have been trading with members of buffettnews and its great. we give one another blank cds and postage for the shipping. i really dont agree with people selling jimmy buffett concerts because they dont legally own the rights to the shows. but i dont have a problem as far as trading them. its like someone is making money off of his name and work and jimmy doesnt see a dime of that. you could say that he has enough money but that is just a weak reason. its great that you have gotten into live jimmy buffett concerts. if you ever want to trade just PM me in here or anyone else. we would be glad to help you.

Thanks for the info rickcrystal! Actually, until I stumbled upon these LIVE recordings while searching for concert tickets (which I still don't have yet!), I didn't even know they exsisted. In the future, I will trade here instead. I'll admit I felt a little "dirty" buying them from this guy, but I was soooo excited!

I've purchased several Alpine Valley CD's on eBay. The sound quality is great, the artwork is very good, and the price was right. I don't mind paying a little for the work that was put into it.

I used to buy all my JB bootlegs on ebay...I think that his lawyers have pretty much shut that down, more or less.

There is one guy out there that has hundreds of concerts, back to the 70's. I have his concert list and it must be 20 pages, single spaced.

Buying concerts on ebay is BAD! The people selling there are profiting off of them, which is BAD!

Please visit the Concert Trading section of BuffettNews.com instead. Someone most likely has what you're looking for, and are willing to trade happily and FAIRLY!

you could always just record the shows from RM. Live or concert replay. That way you are not having to go to Ebay. :P
