BET THAT WAS PLEASANT :x :x
He was 84 lbs. Crackpipes, needles, spray paint cans littered everywhere around him.

I should clarify because I got it wrong when I posted it at first. Kurt was found on the 8th and his date of death was determined to be the 5th. Layne was found on the 19th and his date of death was determined to be the 5th. 8 years apart.
HE WAS PROBABLY AN UNIDENTIFIABLE PILE OF MUSH BY THEN. :x :x KINDA LIKE WHEN HE WAS ALIVE :P

Was only a marginal fan of Nirvana while Cobain was alive...learned to really appreciate the effect they had on music..and will continue to have. My daughter told me 11-12 years ago "Nirvana will be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame someday"..Envisioning the likes of Lennon, Page, Hendrix and the like, I chuckled...I was wrong...Cobain was a major talent..but a junkie is a junkie is a junkie. Drugs..1 Music..0

And I have absolutely no pity on anyone who has the world by the b*lls and still feels the need to paste the contents of their skull all over the wall behind them. As far as I'm concerned, all it meant was more oxygen for those of us who actually appreciate all we have.
I definately respect your opinion when it comes to not being a fan of theirs. However, its not certain that he killed himself. Thats kind of a callous remark considering all the facts haven't be presented.

Sorry CS... I'm not buying into the conspiracy theories either... I respect your skepticism, but Kurt fulfilled his own prophecy.

I'm not some conspiracy theorist. I think it was one person in JFK, I think we did go to the moon, i think crop circles are a hoax, and elvis is dead in the ground...whatever. I just think that in this case all the facts are not being presented because certain people could possibly have a lot to lose if they were. This was a very clouded case. If in the end it turns out he did actually kill himself, thats fine. However, with all the other facts coming to light it looks very suspicious that he didn't.

I thought sounded like something like something from a news story. Didn't say I had experiences in speedballs either but I am somewhat street smart. The church I used to attend fed the homeless and low income every Sunday. It pays to not only be book smart these days but also street smart.

It didn't feed them speedballs, did it? If so, I may have to re-think my stance on organized religion

What were you suggesting?!?!?!?!?

Take my comments any way you want to.

Drugs such as heroin, meth, cocaine are not only used by the down and out druggies but is also being found more and more in non traditional places such as upper middle class suburban high schools. Many times when you hear of a teenager overdosing these days it's kids from the so called well educated families. The one thing you hear over and over is parents saying "I had no idea". People with street smarts have that ideal. I can honestly say in all my years on earth some of the most ignorant people I have met are those lacking in common sense and street smarts yet are well educated people.

I was shocked but not surprised by Cobain's death. No matter how it happened, his demise was a very tragic loss and left a huge void in the music world. Kurt had been working with Michael Stipe of R.E.M. on a solo project that the world unfortunately never got to hear. I remember watching Letterman that evening and seeing Blind Melon perform. Their lead singer Shannon Hoon (who would die a few years later) had a huge question mark painted on his forehead because of his bewilderment of what had happened. That's probably my most lasting impression of hearing the sad news that day.
