That was a great story JustaPHan......
I been trying to get my parents to go for years.....and I've had no luck.....After 15+ shows they still can't understand why I need to keep going....Once they tried to figure out how much money I had spent in the last 15 years on tickets, stuPH, driving, food, etc....They figured I could have a new house and a couple of cars

.............I still ask them each and every time I'm going to a show if they want to come along...

Well I can say I was introduced to Jimmys music by my mother. Her and my brother took me to my first concert when I was 10. Since that night, I have loved the music. I have been to many shows and everyone of them I am able to share it with my mother and friends. I am now 25, and this year i was lucky enough to get tickets to the Columbia,SC show for the second year in a row. The concert is only 9 days after my moms bday, and we plan on making it a great time once again. We will also be in Atlanta for the show a month later. Its great to be able to share something that I love with her. I look forward to meeting any of you who are coming our way for the Columbia show, I will be wearing my nametag #1PHnSC. Decorating my truck with a big sharks fin on the top. PHINS UP

My dad had been to a show back in '98 at Irvine, but that was before I discovered Buffett. He's been to 4 more with me.......I wouldn't call him a parrothead, but he sure loves to have fun and loves the good-natured atmosphere at a Buffett tailgate. We sure have grown a little closer since that first show in VEGAS............Now where's that west coast swing schedule!
Taking friends and family

I am all about taking family to the concert! My daughter went with us last year at age 5, where my fiance proposed during "Come Monday". This year we are getting married at the concert in the parking lot at the Pepsi Center in Denver. We rented a suite and are taking 50 of our friends and family (including all our parents, stepparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, siblings).

JustaPHan, thank you for sharing that wonderphul story !!
I went with my mom (mamalola) to her (and my) first show, the next two years it was the two of us and my husband. She didn't go last year and won't be going this year, but I know she really WANTS to be there. She WILL be listening on RM though, for various reasons

I don't want to get my parents to a show, someone has to stay behind and watch my keets!
But as a thank you for babysitting one year I made them a Buffett CD. They are of the WWII era so I put a variety of Jimmy's songs that seemed to fit - Stars Fell on Alabama, Slow Boat to China, etc. They say they listen to it all the time.
But I still don't think I want them on the lawn with me during WDWGDAS!

My father just up and left her early last year and as you can imagine, it was a really difficult year for her. I got her listening to Jimmy and she loves it! And it really helped her through some rough times to throw on one of the Bubba CDs I made for her. She can't wait till July 3rd and neither can I!
Let me get this streight. You are taking your mother to Nissan where you will be hanging with some of the folks from the Virtual Tailgait?????
Damn I wish I was gonna be there.

Well I can't introduce my parents to Buffett, but, I did turn my sister from a JB hater (that may be too strong, but you know what I mean) to PH at Vegas in January! She actually met other BNers in the line waiting to get in before I did! She is so ready for the West Coast shows this year. Hurry up and give me dates!
