Anybody have any reasonably informed information as to how much longer we are going to have to wait before the city of Boston get's off it's a$$ and makes a decision regarding Fenway, Great Woods...and by proxy, Jones Beach and Pittsburgh?

They probably will make a decision sometime in the next year and a half or so!

If you knew anything about how things are done up here in Boston you would know that "someone" is waiting for the briefcase to be delivered before the city will give it's blessing. It sucks but thats the way it is up here.

And I guess the current debate pertains to just how big and heavy that briefcase is...

Streets? I though they buried all of those and replaced them with parks.

I think the whole thing is going to be reviewed again. There was enough local concern about negative implications, that a decision wasn't made on whether or not the concerts would happen. I did hear something mentioned about the possibility of of ending the show's by 9:00, for the sake of the night clubs on Landsdowne street because they would lose parking to the Buffett fans. I'm not sure why that is a concern as the Sox games take up all of the parking as well and can go well past 11:00.
It doesn't help that our bonehead mayor has opened his mouth making a statement along the lines of the creation of a "parrothead village", needless to say this didn't go over very well with some folks as it insinuates that this will be one big street party.
I do find it very interesting that the Patriots home opener has been scheduled for Thursday night of the supposed Buffet show weekend. This has me wondering if Foxboro stadium may be an alternate venue.

I agree, out of the 3, great woods would be preferable. There's really no comparison between the venues.

Wow. Pittsburgh and Boston must be sister cities. Getting something done here also requires a briefcase delivery of one kind or another (or alternately, having your brother, cousin, uncle, or sister's kid on the relevant commissions).

and who is delivering it most likely City Councilor Michael Ross

If he does a show at Foxboro look for Alan Jackson & George Strait to be part of it. There has been talk of them doing additional stadium shows this summer and that would be a perfect location. Football Teams usually don't like their stadium used during the regular season but last year the Stones played a week before the season started so Bob Kraft would have no problem letting Jimmy use it. Also don't forget that Labor Day the PGA is in Mansfield and they may be using Great Woods Parking, Deutsche Bank and the PGA have some deep pockets, last year they used Gillette Stadium and bused people in but that didn't go over too well.
Even if he does play Fenway a Foxboro show still may happen.

Went to the RedSox game last night. They were showing an advertisement of the food at the ball park. As the clip was playing, they were playing "Cheeseburger in Paradise". Maybe its a good omen.

I know in my heart that the tickets will go on sale between May 8th and May 15th because I will be in Mexico and that is my luck.
I have the credit card cleared and I am just waiting for information and I just KNOW that they will go on sale that day.
I would REALLY rather it be at Great Woods even if he does 2 shows at Fenway I think 1 at Great Woods would be a good thing to do.
