I am one that goes to multiple shows a year and I too have to fight for tix just like everyone else. BN.com represents a very small portion of fans at any concernt so don't blame people on this board for the lack of tix. We represent the true fan, you should not be in competition with us. I wish everyone that wanted tickets could get them but that is not reality...and for the money argument, I always tell people that its not how much money you make its what you choose to spend it on. I bet I spend less on one buffett weekend than a smoker does a year on their habit, its all what important to you...instead of wasting so much energy on why you didn't get tix and why its not fair others did maybe the focus needs to switch on how to better your chances to get tix. Nothing makes me ponder harder than someone saying that they've 'tired the same thing the last 3 years and it hasn't worked'...maybe its time for a change?

does it make me an evil person if i hate fluffy clouds, the feel of sunlight on your face in the morning, the sound of children laughing, the feel of grass between my toes and people who get motivated and find ways to acquire jimmy buffett tickets to multiple shows every summer cause i'm too busy wallowing in self pity to take initiative to do the same?

I'm a psychiatric social worker and work in Addictions, and I think it is a damn fine analogy. I know that I am happily awaiting my next Buffett fix in Charlotte.

I also resent being told to grow up (I'm growing older, but not up) and how to spend my hard-earned money. Hubby & I have raised our kids and now it is our turn to kick back and enjoy life. We got our tickets by fighting TM, with the help of friends, and will use E-Bay as a last resort. Hubby & I are part of the Evil Horde that is going to multiple concerts and still manage to pay our bills.

Well I, for one, am going to my one allotted show this year - simply doing my parrothead duty :D

But when Baltimore and Fenway are announced, all bets are off!

Ashaway, I'd be more upset with with the people who flood the phone lines and internet to get tickets only intending to sell them on e-bay. They are the ones taking tickets out of your hands, not those here who will be using the tickets they try so hard to get.

That is the casebook definition of insanity, doing the same things over and over, then expecting different results

This is about the most ridiculous topic I've seen on these boards, I can't even believe I'm wasting my time replying.

Some people attend too many shows? Please

Let me preface this with, I have always tried to be nice to the newcomers, I was one not long ago.

Now......it is none of you god d*mn business how many times some people go, That is their right. I would go to more than Alpine every year, if I could swing it. Hopefully the moon and stars will line up correctly and I can go to a Chicago show for the first time since 1984. Yes. I have been going to shows since 1978, I paid $7.50 for the first freakin show. Don't matter, that day is gone.

btw, I have not bought a ticket from ticketwhore since 1992. I go to Alpine without and have always bought in the lot. As good as 8th row. If you have the will, there is always a way.

That being said, Welcome to BN. We are by and large a very nice group. For future reference, if you plan on hanging around. "Hi I'm (fill in your name here) I'm new, how are you guys..." just might have been a little better way to introduce yourself.

no way this ashaway guy is a fan

He sounds like one of those people that just don't get it. Way too negative. bad vibes, he would not enjoy a buffett concert anyway because of all the damn people having a good time and being nice to each other. Any of you BNers stop by my tailgate in clevelan, indy or chitown I will loan you a beer and a lime even ashaway maybe it will lighten him up....

Uh, dude, take it from a fellow newbie, this ain't the way to make friends around here. Read alot, pick your spots, and think twice before you slam the vast majority of BN users.
Oh, and if you want to be taken seriously, you might want to consider checking for errors before posting. :-?

I try to go to the great woods show every year but it sells out quickly, and frankly its not fair that some people go to see him that many times when those tickets could be going to first timers or people who can only make it to one show a year, come on people let some of the others have a chance. this doesnt jsut happen with jimmy it was near impossible to get tix to u2 becuase so many people follow them around teh country
you are honestly kidding, right???? :o

I'll go to as many damn shows as I feel like..but thank you for your concern. I got shut out too and I bitched but I am not going to criticize others for going to multiple shows. Instead I put my energy into getting tickets. Ok I am done venting..I promise.. that said I would still welcome you to our tailgate!

If 23 in 3 gets that kind of response I hate to see what your response is to me who had nothing better to do with his time or money and saw him 14 times in 12 months. I must be really pitiful then.

I am not from the New England area and I am fully aware of how popular GW's shows are, as well as people that are from all over the country.

When is albor day weekend anyway? I want to make sure I tickets for that show or shows.
