Where in the world did you hear that?longlinergirl wrote:....and I hear Jane is quite the shagger.
Jimmy talks about it in "A Pirate Looks At Fifty" p. 274:
""Jane is from South Carolina and is firmly entrenched in the Piedmont tradition of the shag, which I cannot do. The shag and jitterbug do not mix. They're the oil and water of the dance world, so we just stick to slow dancing with a little merengue thrown in."
....so I guess you could say I heard it from the horse's mouth.

He has played at least two shows (sometimes more- the House of Blues Cubs benefit) here in beautiful Chicago for as long as I can remember. And don't forget the times that he has sang Take Me Out to the Ball Game for the Cubs. But seriously since every town on his tours offer so much, I firmly believe that he has as much fun wherever he is at.

It is definately Boston, the atmosphere and the parking lot is the best I have ever been to, not just because I'm from Boston. Jimmy even does a better show here. You know thats got to be true when someone from New York admits that Boston is better than New York at anything. All I can say is if he plays G.W. this year try to attend and see for your self.SmartWomaninShortSkirt wrote:You're all wrong. He loves Boston/Great Woods the most. They have "the best parking lot on the tour" and when he gets up on stage it's a "magic moment".![]()
However, when I lived in Chicago, his favorite city was, of course, Chicago.

Following Jimmy for the last 10 years I must say he has a stong affinity toward Bostom and Great Woods. And I live in Carolina and have only seen him in Great Woods one time.
Jimmy is very thankful for where ever he plays. He makes you feel at almost every concert that this was his favorite venue.
I will also tell you that even though he has written a new song about carolina it does not mean he likes the carolina coast more than other places. For one he spends very little time vacationing here. I know because i have releatives up and down the coast. He also has no vacation homes here.
Every one has there one particular harbor. I know I have mine and so does he and he is not going to tell you where that is located.
Also parking lot scenes vary from year to year. I have seen great parking lots in a number of places not just one place. A lot depends on the weather.

That's part of the reason we all like Jimmy. He embraces what is unique about every town and incorporates a local flavor into each show. Here in Philly he includes Pat Croce (former owner of the Sixers) and has Pierre Robert (local DJ) broadcast on Radio Margaritaville. And of course the inevitable cheesesteak references (Pat's, Geno's, and Jim's) before "Cheeseburger".
While I think it's really cool that he does that, I also realize that it's one of 30 or so towns he plays in each year. And wherever he is, he's thankful for the crowd that comes out.
