Scalpers and Fans Sc#@%%ed!??

Post by asuwookie »

I was at the Charlotte show last night and I could not believe how many scalpers there were! I expected to see a few but it seems like they couldn't give the tickets away! I saw a couple of guys sell tickets WELL below face value. I even saw scalpers standing at the doors trying to sell tickets to the people going inside.
We had floor seats and I also couldn't believe the number of empty seats there either! I know there were like 10 in the row behind us and another 8 in our row. What's up with that?!!?!? One couple in front of us wanted to trade seats since they had friends in the second or third row...why didn't they just buy tickets together?
Anyway I was glad to see that the scalpers couldn't get rid of their tickets but also sad to see the fans screwed. Was this also a problem in Tampa ??
Anyone else notice this at shows?

so at least some of the scalpers took this one in the shorts....

some shows, you won't see this. most all of the seats will be full, and it'll be tough to find tickets in the lot. Great Woods, Alpine, and Camden are good examples. seems like inside shows have a higher incidence of this "extra ticket" phenomenon. I had a tough time getting rid of extras at both Tampa and Miami last year, asking just face value.

It's been this way in Cincinnati too. We don't even try to buy tickets until we get there. We've never paid more than face value and one year we waited until Jimmy was playing the first song and got tickets for $5 from a scalper. At that point, they just wanted to get anything for them. However, in Atlanta you're lucky if you get a ticket for under $100 for the lawn and a lot of the scalpers in Atlanta are selling fake tickets!

Tampa's arena looked like it was pretty much sold out. Very few empty seats. Their were a few scalpers, but not a ton of them. I tried to get better seats, but they wanted too much. :pirate:

I have to disagree with you Schoolie. I stopped buying from ticketwhore after 1992. I have always found tickets in the lot and when I have been patient enough to wait, I have gotten as good as 8th row, at the last minute
