Dreams do come true!!

It's funny how we get so used to wishful thinking and then reality hits and we often find that even with our best efforts, sometimes things don't turn out the way we hope for.
But dreams do come true. It was the end of July 2001 when I introduced my father to Jimmy Buffett's conglomerate lifestyle and music in hopes of giving him a pause in his sadness over losing my Mom. Pencil Thin Mustache was the song I bet on, as I knew the style would fit. Sure enough it stuck. You can read my older posts for more info but suffice it to say my Dad became a big Buffett devotee.
Thursday April 22, 2004 will forever be inbedded in my list of top Father/Daughter memories. We sat side by side and my husband sat on my other side. Together, we had one of the most entertaining evenings ever.
I have to say that when "Pencil Thin Mustache" started, I almost fell off my chair. I just thought the odds of that song making it to the set list that night was pretty much one in a thousand (or how ever many songs Jimmy has recorded) and when I heard the first few notes, I screamed!!! Sure enough, my father sang along, tapping his toes with a big smile on his face. I will NEVER forget that moment, just as I will never forget seeing him sing along to PTM that first night in 2001.
I am forever thankful to the man upstairs for giving me this memory, I will forever be thankful to Jimmy for playing PTM and for answering the eternal question: Can a person really have fun at work? His enthusiasm and smile are so contagious...no wonder he has such a huge fan base.
I will never forget that night. I will never forget Jimmy's smile. If ever I am lost, I will remember that night and say to myself, dreams do come true. Keep believing.
Thanks to BN for all the good advice, kind words of faith all along my journey here and your enthusiasm. I love it here and feel priviledged to come visit and stay in touch.
Cheers!
