Is it just me, or is it awkward hearing Changes in Latittude up front in the shows?
I love hearing Jimmy mix things up from show to show and year to year. I miss hearing more songs from Far Side. But something about leading off with Changes is just out of place. Or maybe it's just me.

I kind of agree. I like a little mix up, but CILCIA 1st seams weird. NOT that there is anything wrong with that :D

I personally like the change. It seemed to add to the excitement to start slowly with CILCIA, then add Mac and finally add Ralph and Robert before adding the entire band. For me, the best part was the final encore of Pirate with Amy on soprano sax.

I loved the way he started solo with CILCIA--I have always wanted to see JB do some solo acoustic stuff, so this was a real treat for me. It was so cool to hear 26,000 people singing along with him, too. Almost brought a tear to my eye.

I usually like the energetic openers like Fruitcakes on Tues/Thurs&Sat bit this time around, CILCIA acoustically was absolutely FANTASTIC! :pirate:

At first, I didn't like how he did "Changes" for an opener. But as I reviewd the RM take, I really enjoyed it. I felt it was a privilage that we got to see the original coral reefer band in all his glory.

Thats how I feel. If he wants to mix things up some to keep things fresh...thats cool.

Adding band members

I was thinking to myself some time ago. How neat it would be if Jimmy and the reefers hit the stage like the Talking Heads did in Stop Making Sense. Where they slowly added musicians with each song. And here is exactly that with this Buffett tour. Which is great, I always liked that concept. I just felt that "Changes" should be a rocker and maybe later in the show. I get a kick out of hearing Jimmy open solo. I'm just thinking it could be a different song.
All just theory.

great heart was an awesome opener last year, cilcia is the parkign lot anthem tho, so nothing better than to come in from the parkign lot to the parking lot anthem.
