Can anyone tell me the story about this song? I rember hearing a while back that Garth Brooks wanted Jimmy to do the song with him and he wouldn't. Then I saw this come up again in the Kenny Chesney thread. What was the whole story with this?

I remember hearing that story. Something like Jimmy not being available to record it with him due to tour.

I always thought that Jimmy didn't want to record and had something against Garth Brooks.

That is what I recall as well.

I also recall that Garth would have liked to have Buffett on the recording but when Jimmy heard the song he was a bit p***ed because it sounded like a Buffett rip-off.

I have not heard this story before. I would think he would have obliged (much like Alan Jackson) and Garth at the time was huge. Unless scheduling just didn't permit.

I have often wondered this myself. I'm not a big Garth fan (although his first CD was great), but I can't imagine what JB would have against him. Especially considering all the Country artists appearing on the new CD:

Kenny Chesney
Toby Kieth
Alan Jackson


Who else??

I know there are others but dammit, I'm drunk and can't think straight!!
