I feel soooooooo sorry for Marshall as after Ohio State beats them up, then UGA gets them the following weekend.

Well at least their school is going to well compensated by our schools to "work any bugs out" on them!

How was Marshall after Leftwich left?

Well looks like the Dawgs are primed to make a run,I think LSU could still be trouble for us,and we AINT beat them Gaytors since 97...its a tough row to hoe,now we do have a great chance at knockin of the Vols, for a 5th consecutive time...that alone would make my season! But anywho, its gonna be another great SEC season...best dayum confrence in the USA!

hey mars

good luck against the gator girls i cant think of anything non vulgar to post on here about them except for that everyone in the sec agrees that florida sucks! That drubbing you put on us last year in Neyland hopefully woke us up and the Vols will be better prepared for ya'll this year. If you got tickets enjoy the cocktail party in jax because I will be having mine at the Gatorbait game sept 18. Go VOLS!

I don't want this thread to die either...

I have sad news. My Ducks were just placed on a two year probation for recruiting violations. It looks like we came up with the penalty and it doesn't look too bad. No scholarships lost and no bowl game issues. I wonder what we did and why we got off so easy??

Hmmm.

I was in Eugene this weekend visiting. I can't wait for September... only 68 more days.
I wanna go back to the Island...

See you in Boston, September 2nd!

Oregon's football program was placed on NCAA probation for two years Wednesday as the result of recruiting violations by an assistant coach.

Despite the probation, the PAC-10 school remains eligible for postseason play and will not lose any scholarships.

The NCAA said that the case stems from a "series of impermissible" contacts by an assistant back in January of 2003 and the mishandling of a national letter of intent.

The unidentified assistant was suspended without pay for one week last school year, and the athlete involved was not identified and does not attend Oregon.

The NCAA agreed with the university's punishment and didn't impose any additional sanctions.

I guess the only "bright" side to this story is that the student DOES NOT attend Oregon. If he did, then a bigger punishment would have fallen.
Your Ducks lucked out.

72 days till kick off for us..*sigh*

But on an up note, off to Key West in less than 24 hours. Wahoo!

Yes we did. We are a very lucky team in general. We always seem to have our "bye" games with the top of the PAC -- USC again this year.

I'm just glad the penalty isn't very stiff.

I'm sad the game is at Autzen... we also play ASU at "home" so I don't have any Duck games in Arizona this year. No USC and playing UCLA at home too. My closest game is Sept. 18th in Norman, OK!!

My wife and I were in Blacksburg yesterday and drove by the stadium to look at the construction progress of the new press box and luxury suites and like you it really got us into overdrive for the start of the season.

Tech plays august 28 so the wait is not quite as long for my wife :D

So Alan, are you a Tech fan or a Vol fan? Just wait till football season starts and this thread will go nuts. I had alot of fun last fall trash talkin with the Dawg fans. I haven't even looked much into what the Vols are gonna be like this fall. We got alot of unanswered questions in alot of positions. I'm gonna wait until summer drills and see where we are at QB. Go Vols!

I'm a Vol, my wife is a Hokie that isn't too bad to deal with at least she isn't a Gator :D My wife tollerates the Vols and I absolutely hate the Hokies with a passion but she knew that when she married me

We go to about 5 tech games a year and one or two vol games depending on which ones my ticket buddy passes on. Her dad has season tickets for VT. This year as of now we got Florida tickets and maybe Alabama but I am happy as heck to have lower level gator tickets, actually gator tickets period :)

I always wear my Vol stuff at Hokie games and we have some friendly trash talk during the game. Even though I hate Tech they have some of very nice fans who even with my Vol stuff treat me great, and for its size 66k that is one of the loudest smaller stadiums I have ever been to.

If you have never been to a Hokie game in Blacksburg espically against a big opponent or rival I suggest you go, the LSU game in 02' was so loud I couldn't even hear my wife talk setting next to me. To me it's college football and no matter where the game is or whom I hate or like I am always ready to go.

I can't wait to make some road trips to Blacksburg when Clemson starts playing VT. Too bad it's not this season.

Seventy more days until football season in Tiger Town. I am ready for some REVENGE against the Deamon Deacons. I am so excited about this season. We have such a tough schedule this year (Texas A&M, FSU and Miami, all on the road), but I think it will be a good year for us.

GO TIGERS!

Read that Mike Williams is back enrolled at USC....suspect we'll be seeing some sort of court case soon regarding him getting his eligibility back in time for this fall.

What do you guys think about if he should be allowed back or not?

I do not think he should be allowed to play. Yes, he followed Mr. Former Buckeye, but he knew that once you file and hire an agent, you lose your eligibility. He should have waited for a final ruling on Clarett's case BEFORE he tossed himself into the ring.

I guess I don't feel bad when he made a hasty decision. I could give him a break, but I don't think we should. My two cents.

the game's not on the TV schedule yet but if it does make it, the UA alumni club meets at the fox sports grill on scottsdale to watch the game. there's always room for a friendly wager
