Overrated??? I will mark that post. No way. Woody is back and his last name is Tressell!!! He has brought the dignity back to OSU football. Tressell? What was he... like 2-9 against UM? That say it all right there.
Guess we will find out more after this year. The way I look at it Tressell is 1-1 so after this year he will either be 1-2 or 2-1. Time will tell...

I won't argue about John Cooper. I agree with what you say about his record. I just said he recruited that team.

And you lived through that in Ohio? What did you think about the sea of Scarlet and Grey at the game? What was it 85-90% Buckeye fans?
I have to give you credit for being a brave soul. Our area practically shut down. High School games (basketball) were cancelled. It was almost like a holiday. And then after the game it was a holiday.

So Mike Tyson is a fierce competitor tarnished by one ear biting?Buffett4ever wrote:A fierce compeitor tarnised by one incident. He was released of his duties after the Bauman incident though. Good excuse. Now explain Ohio State having its professors pass ball players so that they can play. Clarrett

MC was suspended after his freshman year never to play for the Buckeyes again. I would venture to guess that under Coop he would have continued to play. That is the difference.
And what made you stop with MC and not the others? I am sure you are aware of others. Of course when you take star athletes out of the inner city and put them in front of 100K fans, with all the pressures of winning in college athletics at the D1 level it is bound to happen. Happens at ND. happens everywhere. The system breeds corruption. Don't think for a second that this does not even extend down to the High School level. It does.

SO this is what caused Marcus Vick to give alcohol to 14-15 year old girls, having them strip in his apt for im. And then being stopped for speeding at 86mph with drugs in his car?I am sure you are aware of others. Please, give 95% of the college athletics some credit for having some morals.

Hey folks -
If you haven't gone over to the Game Day forum, please do. I screwed up and posted a new topic instead of a reply.
And, hey - Marcus Vick couldn't help it! Those girls LOOKED 18. What's that? The drinking age is 21? Go figure!

Lived through it, but I sure did get a hard time about it all. And I think there was something messed up with the tv cameras or the stations or something because I think it just LOOKED like there was all that scarlet and grey. With the network problems all the colors blended together to make it look like there were more fans. Yeah, yeah thats what happened, Im pretty sure of itBuffett4ever wrote:And you lived through that in Ohio? What did you think about the sea of Scarlet and Grey at the game? Arrested? Granted they have had problems but what team of that level hasn't? Louis Irizarry and Ira Guilford were both arrested but were suspended for the year by Tressell. I do not recall the outcome of their cases and if they were found guilty or not. Have I missed others?a1aara wrote:I would question the statement that Tressell has brought dignity back to OSU football. Do you know the number of football players that were arrested in the last year from OSU?
I believe Irizarry left Miami to come to OSU. He has had two run-ins with the law already. This last one he was charged, I believe, with disorderly conduct. Hearing the story though I am not sure I would not have done the same thing he did.
And seeing games with Cooper and Tressell I can tell you the games are different. Here is an example. With Cooper I never saw the team before the games. Now the team walk to the stadium in unison dressed in suits. Before the game they stop at the Skull session at St. John's arena. All in suits and ties. Tressell speaks to the crowd. And if you ever get to Columbus on game day stop in to the skull session. It is a lot of fun.
The coaches are very different. Tressell is all about respect and suit and tie attitudes. Cooper was not.

Go Bucks!

Needless to say but #9. I don't put much stock in pre-season predictions. Only one thing matters and that is who ends up on top at the end.BahamaBreeze wrote:WHERE'S YOUR TEAM?
