Needless to say but #9. I don't put much stock in pre-season predictions. Only one thing matters and that is who ends up on top at the end.
Can't believe I'm agreeing with an Ohio State fan !

True enough. BUT there is an advance at starting out closer to the top. If you are ranked, say #4, and lose a game near the beginning, it still gives you time to climb back toward the top 6 (for a BCS game), compared to starting out say #12.

Only a week away from the start of the season and this thread had dropped to the third page? Not right!!!!
I am so ready for football it's not even funny. The one downside of living on the east coast was not getting to go to Nebraska games. Now that I live back in OK, it's only about a seven hour drive, so I'll be going to the first two games of the season (at least). Can't wait!!!!

I love watching the games on classic ESPN. Ive even stayed up pretty late at night because I was to engrossed in a game played 10 years ago, to turn off the tv and go to bed.

Hey, for those of you who like doing "football picking contests" here is a site I have been going to fo a couple of years. Doesn't cost anything, nor do you win anything. They have a "regular" one with all college teams, and then he has others like SEC. ACC, etc....check it out.

I am a die hard OSU fan, however I am definitely interested to see how WV will do this year. They are starting out high preseason, will they be able to stay there?
I think that Georgia will have a good year also, but I gotta give my support to the Ohio State Bukeyes and the Toledo Rockets!

Ya it's been a while since we've been ranked that high in preseason, but Rodriquez is a pretty decent coach and they have a lot of people returning. I always like to be ranked lower and move up, but I will take preseason #10 anyday...hopefully we will move up from there!

Hey we are #14 and have a huge quarterback mess which means we won't be 14 for long
I got my Florida tickets today from my co worker, after he told me how much money he got for them 2 years ago in the parking lot of neyland, i might be watching the game from a bar on cumberland ave

now i need to find a hotel room in knoxville. Stupid me forgot to book the room 3 months ago and now it is a pain finding a decent room at a good price.
I am working now on getting USC tickets for sat. night. What a perfect end to a week if we go to that game as well.

Here in Athens, you have to be placed on a mailing list, and then in April they mail you a form for the rooms. BUT they give the rooms to the people who will be coming up for more than 1 game. So usually season ticket holders get the rooms at the better(decent) hotels/motels. Sure you can still get rooms, but not in town.
You never know about QBs. When Quincy Carter left early for the NFL, we were left with Cory Phillips. He was alright, but then the coach brought in this FRESHMAN, and we were like, WHO the heck is this?? Matter of fact, when I went to "Fan Day", about 4 years ago to get autographs, I was trying to get Cory's autograph, who was being swarmed by kids. After signing our ball, he passed it to this lanky freckled face kid. After he signed our ball, I was like, who is this DAVID GREENE kid! LOL

I think the freshmen will come along. I don't think Fulmer thought Leak or R Clausen could lead us to a SEC title, and if that is the case you might as well go with the much more talented frosh. I do like that they are shaking things up on the hill. I read today where Corey Larkins is currently ahead of Gerald Riggs for the starting tb job. I can definitely see some early struggles, but it will be worth it later in the season and next year. Don't forget, we started a vastly less talented freshman in 2000 against the 4th ranked lizards and could have beaten them were it not for a phantom td catch.

If don't mind not staying on the strip or downtown, check the Emory Road - Merchants Road area up I75. It is (or was) a quick and easy drive in and out.
Go VOLS!!!!!!!
