I've seen three Dylan shows, one pre-heart scare (with Santana) and two afterwards (one with Paul Simon, one with Bob and band) and there was a world of difference in the latter shows, almost like seeing a different person entirely. In the post-heart scare shows he was totally animated; dancing, cutting up with the crowd, even calling Elvis Costello his cell to poke a little good natured fun at their buddy Neil Young but most of all you could actually make out most of the words he was singing. I haven't seen any of his recent concerts but I understand he's playing piano now (with little or no guitar) and back to rearranging some of his classics to the point where it's hard to tell what song he's singing until he reaches the chorus. He just passed there here (NC) while out doing a string of club-sized shows. I hate I missed those but there was just no way I could make it. Hopefully he'll do that again sometime.

1. Buffett

2. Garth Brooks was #1 until we went to Charlotte last Saturday night

3. Alabama

4. Charlie Daniels/Travis Tritt/Hank Jr./JoDee Messina it was the Fruit of the Loom tour around 97 and we had front row seats talk about a great show.

5a. Allison Krauss and Union Station while O' Brother was out. George Clooney's voice for Constant Sorrow lives about 30 min from where I do and he made a suprise appearance and sang the entire soundtrack.

5b. Foreigner by far the loudest show I have ever been to in my life, it was outdoors at a high school football stadium and the crowd got so loud you couldn't hear them sing.

Honorable mention

Brooks and Dunn seen them twice, great show not top 5 material.

I signed up for alerts about concerts in the NY area. She's doing 2 shows at Jones Beach in July, that's why I got the email. I saw the subject line and deleted it without reading it, I was afraid I'd be married by the end of the day.

OR a parent of a 13 year old girl chanting "BRITNEY BRITNEY BRITNEY" while Ms. Spears is on stage taking her clothes off and kissing other girls... Good for you, not good for your 13 year old daughter. It could always be worse than getting married (i.e. not speaking from experience, just newly engaged)!!!!!
