Great Big Sea is a band that you most prob have no idea who they are...but in Canada they are BIG...their concerts are amazing, these guys play and sing their hearts out every show. When i saw them they just had three guys and no drums, and it was one of the most energetic show's i've seen. Now they have more of a backing band, anyways its great music. They do have a live Cd called "Road Rage" just in case anyone wants to check it out.

1 - Skid Row w/ Sebastian Bach - best frontman I've ever seen!!!

2 - Godsmack/Metallica - 2 days ago, 3 rows from the stage!!! In my opinion, you're never too old for Metallica, your neck just hurts longer!

3 - Jimmy at Alpine - any year

4 - Motley Crue - Theater of Pain tour - my first show ever

5 - AC/DC - 1988 Pensacola FL - awesome show
"Trying is the first step towards failure" - Homer Simpson

Forgot to include Cowboy Mouth, a great band from New Orleans. Saw them 3 times and they put on a fantastic show.

I love cowboy mouth !

even though i do think their music took a turn for the worse after "Mercyland" the new Cd is unbearable compared to the classics on "Are you with me"

I've heard of Great Big Sea. Don't they do a cover of R.E.M.'s "It's the End of the World As We Know It (and I Feel Fine)"?

Jahfin wrote:I've seen three Dylan shows, one pre-heart scare (with Santana) and two afterwards (one with Paul Simon, one with Bob and band) and there was a world of difference in the latter shows, almost like seeing a different person entirely. In the post-heart scare shows he was totally animated; dancing, cutting up with the crowd, even calling Elvis Costello his cell to poke a little good natured fun at their buddy Neil Young but most of all you could actually make out most of the words he was singing. I haven't seen any of his recent concerts but I understand he's playing piano now (with little or no guitar) and back to rearranging some of his classics to the point where it's hard to tell what song he's singing until he reaches the chorus. He just passed there here (NC) while out doing a string of club-sized shows. I hate I missed those but there was just no way I could make it. Hopefully he'll do that again sometime.
I saw him in 2001. All he did was play his songs...didn't talk to the audience, didn't move around or anything. I guess I was expecting more interaction and excitement... I thought maybe he wasn't very thrilled to be in West Virginia or something...who knows.

I don't go to a lot of concerts. In fact there are only two acts that I have seen more than once. Jimmy, of course, and TINA TURNER. I've seen her three times. What a show she puts on! What kept me going back multiple times is that, while she has a set of pipes and still looks AWESOME, she is sooooooooo genuinely appreciative that you came to see her. Even in a coliseum w/ 20,000, she comes across as sincerly grateful that you took time out of your life to come see her. Man, she ROCKS! :D

Warren Zevon, but I might be biased on that one.

Oh yea!!!! Loved Warren Zevon, should have included him higher on my list. Saw him in Chicago 2001. Also how could I have forgotten Bob Seger on his final tour in Minneapolis.

I'd say that isn't true at all. Not all performers are entertainers in the same way say Jimmy Buffett is. Just because he didn't interact with the crowd is no indication whatsoever that he suffers from drug abuse or is too old to perform. I'm guessing ya'll just caught him on a bad night. I've seen many acts over the years that may of said little more to the audience than "thank you" but that doesn't mean they didn't put on a good performance.
