Stuttering John

I'm too lazy to Google... when exactly did Stuttering John Melendez from Howard Stern fame become the announcer for the Jay Leno Show??? err Tonight Show that is?

And how did he lose the stutter? I always thought he was just a goof on Stern, had no idea he aspired for bigger things... is Leno "bigger" than Stern? I don't know.

he started on the Tonight Show just a few weeks ago. not a Howard Stern fan so i can't speak to the other things.

Just one man's opinion but NO, Leno is NOT bigger then Stern...

However, radio vs. T.V.... Hmmm... I guess I'd go with the tube too.

You're right, Stern's 6'6". I don't think Leno's that tall.

I wonder if Stuttering John has cleaned up his act. I saw him once walking in midtown a couple of years ago and he looked like he takes a shower about once a month, whether he needs it or not.

"(Stern) also said that John gets these jobs where he doesn't have to do anything and he's the luckiest guy around." Not knowing anything behind the scenes, this seems pretty accurate to me!

I haven't heard the stutter at all on Leno, but I only see it now and then.
