Based on the latest news reports, Fenway is in, so my ear on the telegraph tells me that Jones Beach will be the place to be on Labor Day weekend. My wife and I and the Buffett crew are already looking into RV rentals for the weekend. I was hoping some out there can fill me in on Jones Beach.
How does it compare to GW?
In size, seating and tailgating capacity?
Are they strict about the ticket policy?
Any stories from the past, good or bad?
Suggestions for alternate lodging in the area?
Any preferred channels for tickets?
Thanks for any input.

Jones Beach seats about 14,000. All reserved seating, no lawn. It's a state park so you're not supposed to drink but if you keep it in a cup and don't act like a fool the cops won't bother you. Good luck on getting there, traffic on LI is bad enough already but getting to the beach the Saturday of Labor Day weekend will be a nightmare.

I'm really excited about it. I am, however, in agreement that I'm already sweating the traffic.

The "complete" Jones Beach schedule was announced this morning and Buffett isn't on it. But there are a lot of holes in the schedule and they always add dates later. This could be a good thing since tickets for every show that was announced today go on sale Saturday.

What is really funny is on the Jones Beach website they have their complete concert schedule listed, under the column for INFO it says Tickets, look at the last row? They have a link to eBay. They are actually promoting eBay to buy tickets for Jones Beach
