Thanks SDPirate40,
I am surprised that my thread is getting sooo much attention. I am glad that there are others who feel dissapointed and let down by JB.
It seems that there are fans who just go for the concert and then there are fans who go for the full experience. They are two very different groups of people apparently. It is the height of the summer for the later, and for the former just another show..

Bigcat you couldn't be more wrong. If you actually have met any of us on this board you would have realized that. Many of us travel all over the country and tailgate all day long.

Here's a simple mind at werk...............

FENWAY.......50,000seats+/- times ticket price= alot of $

NORMAL VENUE.......20,000 seats+/- times ticket price=less $

FENWAY=something different and MAYBE FUN for James and the reefers

NORMAL VENUE=same old thing

$ aint drivin jimmy's bus.............I'd do the same thing......maybe the ORANGE BOWL instead of Fenway..........

time for a brew(not coffee)

Trust me, there is no such thing as way too much money....but alas, I am not rich, just spending my money on living one hell of a good life while working very, very hard in life to live it the way most Buffett phans would want to if they could....

People also seem to forget that last year Jimmy said several times he wanted to do stadium shows.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

Either way, I am not surprised your thread has so much attention.

Boston phans...I congratulate you for your passion. As I said, Irvine and Great Woods are THE best of the 20+ venues I have either driven the FINS BUS to, or flown in for. Personal opinion only....

Ooohhhh....I am getting the itch to check for Fenway tix on ebay ....

i am still gonna try and get tickets but everything about fenway is a pain, i am also a baseball fan so a few trips to fenway a summer are the norm for me, the parking is terrible, everything in the city is more expensive, i heard that the sound at the springsteen concert wasnt very good, but who knows maybe everyone should just look on the bright side of things, maybe a few years from now these two shows will go down in parrot hear history, and i for one want to say that i was there, i beleive that great woods is a better all around experience but i will no doubt try my best to be in attendance

none taken tiki, i mean things could be worse, he could not be playing at all, and frankly i saw someone mentioned the fleetcenter and i think the fact that its outside makes it much better, jimmy seems like he would be more enjoyable in the open air, even thought the sound in the fleetcenter would probably be better

Impotance (impotence) of Fenway... that's the demise of tailgating at fenway... it'll never get off the ground...

Sorry, that was just too funny to ignore... a freudian slip maybe????

Ashaway, great to hear good things from you.
I have to say, my first Buffett show was in Miami Baseball Stadium in 1977 (long before the Marlins came along) and it was fantastic. He played in center field and the entire infield/outfield was a mass of blankets and bikinis. I cannot honestly sit here and say that it was a bad thing (although a bit sexist, but ladies, there were many washboard abs as well).
I don't know the way they do it in Fenway, but think about it, THE LAWN SEATS WILL BE CLOSER THAN THE RESERVED SEATS. So if this is the case in Fenway, Jimmy is actually catering to the lawn crowd. I would say THAT is giving back to the common Parrot Head.

I was talking to one of my friends today who has contacts with the Red Sox, and the season ticket holders bought up their allotted number of tickets (none were available today) - looks like about only 800 tickets will be released to the general public on Saturday. :x

Good luck everyone - I'll probably see some of you in line!!!
Time to keep my phins crossed!!!

Mr b's tickets in Chicago has tickets for Fenway Park. Tickets go on sale Sat May 8th. Must be nice  How can you have them so early? Something STINKS... At this rate toilet seats will be the only seat that most phans can afford.
