FROM THE NEWS THREAD:
steveatrm wrote:Hi there. Lively debate, eh?
I do not have any inside information about tours in 2005 or beyond. Many times you at Buffett News know stuff before I do. I was just trying to provide some perspective on this year's New England shows. Sorry if anyone was insulted, but you should see some of these emails. Actually, this message board provides the varied opinions, so you're getting the idea.

I'm no fonder of stadium concerts than most other people. I've heard both sides of the Springsteen Fenway critique, and my least favorite (though still awesome) Bruce shows in his history were the stadiums. Or is that stadia? But I love going to Fenway for Red Sox games, and I can't wait to see the spectacle of a Jimmy Buffett concert there. If form holds, the people at the show are every bit as much fun as what's on the stage.

I figure Jimmy knows how special Great Woods is (he's said so many times). And how important tailgating is. Just watch the video at the show. I'm guessing, as I've said, that one would do Fenway Park this time because one can. The opportunity may never come again, or may never be sought again. I don't know.

And in the end everyone will do what they want to do. Go, or not go and wait for the next go 'round. I sure am glad he's putting them out on Radio Margaritaville to "be there" from anywhere. There's no one else doing that.

No I'm not going to Dallas. The Texas Stadium there is horriable. If it were at a different venue, say the Cotton Bowl I'd go and I'd go to see all 3 performers. I hope the people that are going will have a good time but I've been to Texas Stadium and it's just not a very good acoustic venue. The acoustics are bad for a Cowboy game. Hopefully I'll be able to make a show this year but if I don't I'll listen to them on RM. And so far as me getting bgsheriss going again I believe he was already going.

Did you actually hear this or is this just what you think happened??
Wow, one day goes by and already 3 pages of posts today....

I heard it from the son of a coworker who has friends in the Red Sox management. I have no reason not to believe him, but I'm not guaranteeing that there will ONLY by about 800 tickets...that's an estimate, but the point is that the tickets will be few and far between.
icarus wrote:. . . again, what type of connection does your "friend" have.

I almost want to beleive this for the followin reasons:
Season ticket holders are broken out into 2 or 3 groups.
There are the ones who have every game,
then there are the ones who have weekend packages,
and others who have weekday packages.
(or something like that)

What this means is that instead of just 35,000 seats or what ever the capacity is of the place, you have to multiply that by some factor for the season ticket holder who sits in a seat one night and another who sits in the SAME seat another night. This means one physical seat has two season ticket holders, thus again lessoning the chance of joe parrot head fan of getting a ticket. Basically, if the one guy gets the one night, the other guy will just take the next night or something similar. Who knows, they may be able to get tix for both nights anyway which would really s***.
:(
Then I was talking to another coworker who's brother in law has season tickets and he shares the seats with other people so This means one physical seat has two season ticket holders, thus again lessoning the chance of joe parrot head fan of getting a ticket.

I sure hope that there are more than 800 tickets released too, I was just passing on some info that I heard....while I have no reason to think the guy I talked to lied(he has friends who work in the RS management), I DO HOPE that the number is wrong and that we are able to buy tickets on Saturday.

I know I'll be trying to get some!!!!

(sorry if my information is wrong or misleading)
