It's NOT the venue...it's the lack of the PARTY!!!!
MORE than half of Jimmy's success is the fantasy lifestyle the tail-gating represents! It's NOT just a concert....it's a once-a-year' PARTY for most fans....and without it...it AINT "Margaritaville"....
And FENWAY will NEVER be "Margaritaville"!!!

IT'S A CHANGE OF VENUE I DONT LIKE,SO I AM BOTHERED BY IT.I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO GW,HANGIN OUT IN THE PARKING LOT AND MEETING A BUNCH OF BN'ERS.I HATE FENWAY AND ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT.THOSE ARE MY REASONS SO I WONT GO.
NOW DO I THINK THE WORLD HAS COME TO AN END?NO,AND IN THE BIG SCHEME OF MY LIFE IT'S REALLY NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL,JUST A DIASSAPOINTMENT.LIFES FULL OF THEM AND THIS IS CERTAINLY NOT THE BIGGEST.
THE DIFFERENT VIEWS HERE ARE WHAT BUG ME.EITHER THAT THE WORLD HAS ENDED BECAUSE OF NO GW OR THAT WE OWE JIMMY THE WORLD BECAUSE HE "LETS US" SEE HIM AND GIVE HIM MONEY EVERY YEAR.

Hey cheese head... your priorities are out of whack.. Jimmy should work for his fans to make them happy. After all, we are the ones who have made his career. If he sees his fans unhappy, he should make a concession like play tweeter also. Yes, It is the biggest dissapointment of the summer and that is the way many of us feel. If you cannot understand that then perhaps you have never been to the Buffett show at tweeter or understand what the environment in or around Fenway is like.

Don't b!itch about the things you can't change - change the things you can change and be happy.
Be happy that Jimmy is playing near you. Some people who would LOVE to see Jimmy can't because he dosn't even hit their state.
You people that are complaining about Fenway are just plain ungrateful. The people in the states that he's not coming to would love to see him so maybe next year he'll remember all your griping and go to where he's more appreciated.

For some reason they're all predispositioned to b**** about it... 1st complaining about no decision, and then complaining about the decision.
All I know is playing Fenway must have been important to Jimmy, because it's announced on the home page of Margaritaville.com. All of the squeeky wheels must be disappointing to him. Hopefully the legions of fans that will support his decision, and even embrace it for how special it could be, will out-weigh all of the negativity. Otherwise, Jimmy may choose to end the Labor Day tradition all together.
It's hard for me to imagine a Buffett concert that wasn't worth going to. True the tailgating and pre-show festivities are one of the things that set parrotheads apart from other fan groups but aren't there other ways of getting around this? Whatever the venue, it's still Jimmy and the music is still incredible!
Change can be a good thing; there was a time when Jimmy didn't play 28-30 song setlists. Check out some of the history here

Catch him where you can...come early, come often!

Tell that to the pholks in San Diego and other markets who are getting no show this year....I'm sure they'll feel real sorry for you.

I can sympathize with you on the disappointment - it's understandable.
THE DIFFERENT VIEWS HERE ARE WHAT BUG ME.EITHER THAT THE WORLD HAS ENDED BECAUSE OF NO GW OR THAT WE OWE JIMMY THE WORLD BECAUSE HE "LETS US" SEE HIM AND GIVE HIM MONEY EVERY YEAR.

"The world has ended" views bug me too. I don't think the other view is necessarily that anyone "owes" Jimmy, or at least that's not my interpretation. All I'm saying is it's Jimmy's decision, it's important to him, and I don't think that's enough to warrant personal attacks or vengence on him.
Other people who are in areas not frequently on the tour schedule would be happy with him anywhere nearby. That's just a different perspective, but not that anyone owe's him anything... to make the best of whatever comes your way is valid enough reasoning to me.
Your approach seems sensible enough though - you're acting on your freedom of choice, and that's all you can do at this point.

He is... he will make tens of thousands of fans happy on September 10th and 12th. Where you're misguided is in thinking you're the only fan he needs to make happy.

Because he's too busy maintaining this board and all of its associated technical difficulties in his free time (without compensation) to actually be able to post here.
