Derby Days!

Hey guys...anyone interested in the Kentucky Derby??? I have a friend that is there today so I've taken a new interest in it!
Anyone ever been?
I just watched a whole thing on the travel channel and didn't realize the magnitude of the event and how many TONS of other things are going on. I want to go someday soon!!!!

One of my friends had went a couple years ago and said it was a huge party. I never really understood why to have a party all day for a race that lasts maybe give or take 90 seconds.

well i didn't know much about it, but there are races all day...a bunch of heats...and then the final race of winners for the crown.
it's all about tradition...and it's cool.
i want to get a fancy hat and go to the derby!

The Kentucky Derby is the most exciting 2 minutes in sports. I've been having a huge Kentucky Derby Party at my place for the past 2 years. We try to turn the backyard into the infield at Churchhill Downs as much as possible. Big white tents, Derby hats, mint juleps and of course gambling. Being in Southern California a lot of my friends didn't get the whole Derby thing either but after last years party everyone couldn't wait for the next one and I had a lot more attendees. I guess it's like those who don't understand a Buffett show until the experience it. Preakness in just 2 weeks and I think Smarty can do it.
