Phone Call

Post by Bob Roberts »

I just received a collect call from someone that identified themself in the recording as "Jimmy Buffett". After accepting the call, the person identified themselves as someone that worked for Buffett and said that they had backstage passes to the Columbus show on the 22nd. They said that they got my number from someone that said I was looking for tickets. I turned them down, seeing as I'm singing in a wedding that day anyway. Has anybody ever received a call like this before? I don't know if it was legit or not. I was posting on the ticket exchange looking for tickets, but I can't go now. Oh well!

If Jimi, Janis, John, Stevie or Elvis call, tell them to give me a ring :D

Living in Dallas I should probably stand up for the Cowboys. Only problem is I grew up a Steelers fan when it was Dallas and Pittsburgh in the Superbowl every year. Even so, this could be the year for Big Bill...

No one who works for Jimmy has ever called me collect - I'm pretty sure they can all spring for the long distance call.

Last November on Election Day, I know several people around here who got a call featuring a spoken message from Jimmy encouraging them to vote in the election.

I did get a call that day, but it wasn't from Jimmy. It was from George W. Bush. What a disappointment! I got a call from the leader of the free world rather than Jimmy! :D
