Buffett may also play Tweeter Center, MA

From the Sun Chronicle Newpaper: "Tweeter announces summer lineup"
http://sunchronicle.com/articles/2004/0 ... /city7.txt

Norah Jones, Phish and Kenny Chesney have been added to the 2004 concert lineup at the Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts in Mansfield.

And, although Jimmy Buffett is to appear Sept. 10 and 12 at Fenway Park in Boston, he also will play at Tweeter, said David Marsden, senior vice president of Tea Party Concerts/Clear Channel Entertainment. But Marsden said he was `` not sure when.''

So, if this is made official, should I hold my breath waiting for all the Jimmy bashers who said he forgot about his fans, to come back and issue formal apologies?

This is beyond great if it's true. :D :D

It would be real nice to know all the facts prior to Fenway tickets going on sale tomorrow.

Hey Clear Channel. How about giving us a hint as to a date, and whether or not this is real?

If this is true my guess would be they will wait until the 2 Fenway shows sell out before anouncing any Great Woods show.

I wonder if it was planned all along, or if the squeeky wheels are being accomodated?

Comparing schedules it looks like the only time it could happen is the first week in August. Otherwise, it would be in early September and I don't think they would want the shows that close together with the Fenway shows. I read somewhere that Tweeter rented out their parking lot to a big golf tournament over Labor Day weekend so that's probably out.

I spoke to a friend that works as a promotions manager at a Boston station and she was at the press conference when they released the Great Woods lineup. Supposedly they don't want to announce the Great Woods shows before Fenway because they are afraid they will sell out Great Woods and not Fenway. I don't think they'll have a problem selling out either. I spoke to a women at Tweeter today and she wouldn't confirm anything but did say Labor Day weekend, September 2 and 4, was still open and they have not made plans to let the golf course use the parking lots. Looks to me like Jimmy will be around for the usual Labor Day weekend shows at Great Woods!!

I agree, I wouldn't think they'd have a problem selling 'em all out either. This is looking better and better all the time!

That sounds good but September 2 Buffett is booked for Pittsburgh offically so that eliminates that date! So at best maybe Saturday, September 4 then the following Monday or Tuesday.

sept 4?????

Post by tailg8 »

:D I hope its true! You guys wouldn't tease a girl like that - right?!?!?! If everything you all say is true, I am betting on one show in Saturday, Sept 4... Even though that would mean two weekends in a row - He can go fishing in Nantucket for a week! And, lets not forget - Jimmy LOVES us! cause - who is better than us!?!?!?!?!
I wonder if there will be club allocations ?!?!?!?!?!

well, now, that's not entirely true. the golf tournament is putting out the word that parking is available at Tweeter Center all weekend. but that doesn't mean that couldn't change if the GW parking lot was otherwise occupied.... :D
