The 25% tip/raise you are going to ask for tomorrow.

Excuse me? $3? I have a ticket order in at this moment that the ticket cost me $42 each for 2, the facility charge cost $3.50 which I cannot blame on TM, but they did charge me $7.90 per ticket for convenience of doing business with them. THEN they charged me $4.10 for an "order processing fee". So for $82 worth of tickets I am paying them $19.90. Don't know about you, but I usually don't pay someone 25% more because they are doing their job. Granted, I will tip a server this much, but not for basic service. I am talking about them reeeeeaaalllly doing a great job.
[/quote]
Ok, I did undervalue the fees
But my point was that I would personally much rather pay them $19.90 more for $84 worth of tickets (42 x 2 = 84)

than paying a broker $175 for $84 woth of tickets. I don't usually pay 25% more either and I'm sure as hell not going to pay a 100% or more mark-up to a broker!

As opposed to the ridiculously inflated ticket prices when going to a broker? Give me a break. Why is everyone complaining about a measily $3 fee to ticketmaster? I'll pay a minimal fee to ticketmaster over going through a broker anyday.
12volt, I am looking at my tickets to Dallas -and for two tickets the convenience charge is $19.08, the handling fee is $4.00, and the retail sales tax is $1.72 which equals $24.80 divided by 2 tickets, that's $12.40 - which is NOT measly money to me. $3 sure, anyone can s*** up a $3 loss, but $12.40 PER TICKET....that's what I'm talking about.

Oh, and be careful about the TicketFast option. 1) you will not be able to resell if you have people back out (anyone can print dozens from the file, but only the first person can get in) and 2) if the show cancels, you do not get that $2.50 back.
hey, that gives me an idea.i'm goin to work tomorrow and demand a convenience fee for doing my job

But that would only work if you do a $hitty job like TM does.

I'm going in to see tommcat's boss tomorrow to collect double his salary, give him his usual pay, then run off with my profits just to relieve his company of the burden of paying him directly for his service.

How about this: I go to his boss, charge 10 times what he gets, give you double his salary and I sit back and know that I am not ripping anyone off, I am just giving them the service, er, I mean
A service.

And remember, Tomm should see not one penny of the extra money because, God knows, he makes enough money (and we should collect all we can from his hard work).

Wow, in our own little comedy skit way, I think we have actually answered mikes65's original question. I feel a sort of zen coming over me.
Now if we can just get Fenway tickets... $hit, did I say (type) that out loud?

Past Ticketmaster experiences....
Chicago 2003- No problems. Scored tickets.
Columbus 2004- Terrible problems. Could not get tickets for 20 minutes.
Indy 2004- Ticketmaster was slow, got through.
Alpine 2004- Could not get Tickets, Ticketmaster killed us.
Fenway 2004- Ticketmaster killed us for 15 minutes straight.
Soooooo....3/5 times Ticketmaseter would not let us get tickets. We have a cable connection, and had the credit card and all. Ticketmaster just didnt go through.
60% of the time Ticketmaster hasnt helped us, and only once did they go through easy with our order. And they still charge $40 extra for this 'convience'
I SINCERELY HATE TICKETMASTER!!!

I, too, was righteously indignant my first time. A couple of the locals set me straight, though. Now I just make fun of the F-word people.
You know... F**way.
