Diamondan,

I love the Iguanas! Too bad to they don't come to my area (South Florida) nearly enough. Just once a year is all. They have not dried up but are still actively recording and touring. Their latest release is called Plastic Silver 9-volt Heart. It's not like the early days of Para Donde Vas and Oye Isabel but they're awesome just the same. Check them out at iguanas.com.

For those that don't know them, I believe they were the first band signed to margaritaville records back in 1992. Followed by Evangeline and Todd Snider. In fact, all 3 of these artists opened for JB the year they signed into his label. The IG's and Snider are still around but not Evangeline.

PM me if you want to discuss trades.

While we're on the subject, what ever happened to Evangeline? There's a group out there by that name these days but I'm pretty sure it's not the same one.

I saw the Iguanas on Mountain Stage (WV Public Radio, Charleston) last year. They were awesome. They have a fairly recent release - Plastic Silver 9 Volt Heart - which is superb. I also recommend their live release available only through their web site.

Catch 'em if you ever get the chance.

Regarding Evangeline, there may be others but the one I am referring to released 3 records only in the '90's then broke up. Too bad...they were damn good. Checkout allmusic.com for the lowdown. I have the first 2 cd's...anybody got the 3rd? PM me if you do.

Regarding The Iguanas, I've been a fan since 1992. I heard Oye Isabel live before the second record was even released...summer of '92. The crowd went crazy. They were fresh and alive. These guys can do no wrong in my opinion but have some weak tunes over the years. Live they are incredible!

Get anything from either band...you'll love it. Jimmy signs only good bands.
