Hello, all -

Thank you so much for all the Phin Power. My brother and sister were comforted and cheered by all your good wishes.

Just thought you'd like to have some updates on their conditions. Scott's surgery went well - he was in a lot of pain, but his first post-op exam went amazingly well. Of course he's been overdoing himself against doctor's advice, so we can only hope for the best at his second exam this Friday!

Baby Emma Lynn entered this world on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. She weighs 5 lbs. 9 oz. and is 19 inches long. They were surprised at her size - they thought she'd be smaller. We had a scare this weekend - her potassium levels were high, which could indicate kidney trouble. A confirmation test showed that her levels were only slightly elevated, and her creatine levels (key tests on kidney function) were normal. They have done an ultrasound to examine her kidneys, and we await the results. She has been peeing regularly, so she was discharged yesterday with her mother. Niki's labor was long (they induced her Friday morning), but she's doing very well!
