You rock Cartmill!
I'm really sorry about the yellow streaks through it... my scanner needs to be pitched.

Country station Froggy 103.5 in the Wheeling, WV/Pittsburgh area debuted the song this evening around 6:00. They even had a few teases for it for an hour or two leading up to the debut, telling listeners to stay tuned for Jimmy Buffett's new single, etc. It was pretty cool and a very cool song. I think I already like it better than LTC.

I called my local station, KSKS 93.7 in Fresno after I read this thread. DJ said that they had just received it and would spin it within the hour. They did, and it was great! Jimmy was really drummed up by the DJ, even with all the big names contributing to this song. Jimmy starts it out, then George, Alan, Kenny, Clint, and Toby. (Methinks...don't sue me if the order is wrong

) It's a fun song, and should get plenty of airplay.

Guess again. Still in Jacksonville...
My heart's still in the Sunshine State,
but my soul is in the stars (Pleiades calling me home...)
P.S. Thanks for the radio release info, and for remembering me!

LOL - duh! Funny how you see things out of context and don't put the connections together.

How about the lyrics? Is this a new song or is it a remake of the one that goes "hey good lookin', what ya got cookin'?"

It's a remake of the old song. The singers take turns singing verses. Jimmy has a pretty small role but you can tell he's having fun singing. You can hear that familiar smile in his voice.

Let's just say Des is a little "out there"...
Then again aren't we all?

Thanks for the pic! Appears Jimmy uses Crest Whitestrips!!!!!
I called "America's Country Station" US99 in Chicago this morning... she told me they don't have it yet... I asked her if the rest of the country has it, why don't they?

Yeah, and there's that darn pink dress shirt again. I'm beginning to think he bought 20 of those at Land's End or something.

The rest of the country doesn't have it yet. It hasn't been added in my parts of the world either - Columbus, Charleston or Huntington.
I'll bet in about a month we won't be able to escape it.

I just heard it, but I could only hear Jimmy, Clint Black, Kenny, and a little bit of Toby Keith. I couldn't make out Alan or George....

They probably 'have it' it's just sitting on a program director's desk somewhere with a stack of other CD's, and not where the DJ's can get to it.
I'm AMAZED at how many stations we're hearing played this thing on delivery day. It doesn't always happen like that!

So, how many times has your station played it?

WLLR in Davenport just told me, "It's not in our computer, you sure its been released"
Then I rattled off the list of stations already playing it (from your posts) and you could practically hear the b**** blush. Said she'd look into it

Is Nancy Turner still on US99, Tiki? I was in love with her when she was at WMAQ, she looks a lot like Suzy Boggus

OMG I remember Nancy Turner from WMAQ too! She had an awesome voice!
:waves at conchy tonk: what part of Nashville are you in?
For those country music challenged, here is my best stab at who's singing what lyrics. Print them off and keep handy for when your station plays the song.
Jimmy starts
Hey Hey, good lookin'
Whatcha' got cookin
How's about cookin' something up with me
George next:
Hey hey sweet baby
Don't you think maybe
We could find us a brand new recipe
AJ
I've got a hot rod Ford and a 2 dollar bill
And I know a spot right over the hill
Clint
There's soda pop and the dancin' is free
Yeah if you wanna have fun, come along with me
Kenny-
Hey good looking, whatcha got cookin
TK -
How's about cooking something up with me
Jimmy - Let's stir it up boys
(long instrumental)
Jimmy
I'm free and I'm ready
Maybe we can go steady
Clint - How's about saving all your time for me
Kenny - No more lookin'
TK - I know I've been tookin'
AJ - How's about keeping steady company?
KC - Well I'm gonna throw my date book over the fence
TK - And buy me one for 5 or 10 cents
Clint -
I'll keep it 'til it's covered with age
'Cuz I'm writing your name down on every page
Everyone - Hey Hey Good Lookin'
AJ - Whatcha got cookin'
Jimmy - How's about cooking something up with me
Clint - How's about cooking something up with me
George - How's about cooking something up with me
