Anyone been to LuLu's lately

I'm taking the wife and keets down to the Gulf Coast next Friday to stay a week on a quiet (beautiful) stretch of beach just west of Destin / Ft. Walton area. I couldn't help but notice we'd be about 65 miles from LuLu's at Homeport Marina.

If you've been there since they moved, I'd like to hear from you. I'm trying to convince everyone that it would be worth going a little out of the way to chill at LuLu's place for a little while.

I can't stress this enough.....MAKE THE DRIVE TO THE NEW LULU'S!!!! My boyfriend at the time (he proposed the morning we went to Lulu's for lunch) went down to Gulf Shores the end of March and ate there twice. Our first day at the Gulf we went during the day and ate lunch and our last night there we went for dinner. We wanted to experience it during the day and at night (both were wonderful). GREAT SERVICE AND GREAT FOOD. GREAT MUSIC AT NIGHT. Wes Loper was playing and if you get a chance to see him... it is a must! The keets will love the giant sandbox w/ toys while you are waiting for a table. I ordered the Cheeseburger in Paradise-lunch and the Shrimp and Oyster Basket-dinner and both were delicious!!!! I think it would be well worth your while to drive over and have a meal.

P.S. I'll try to get the significant other to put his two cents in on how he feels about the new Lulu's just in case you need a little more convincing!!! I hope you and your family enjoy your vacation!!!!!

Thanks for the info fairhope, it sounds like a rave review. This should help me convince 'em. I'll watch for the additional comments. I had a co-worker that was there back in March and she also recommended the trip. She said she was hoping to see LuLu and actually met her in the ladies restroom (cleaning). :D I thought it was cool that she runs the whole show including making sure the john is clean for her guests.

The menu on the site looks great too.

ITS A PRETTY RAD PLACE!!!!

IN FACT IT WOULD PROBLEY BE WORTH IT TO CHANGE YOUR HOTEL RESERVATIONS TO GULF SHORES SO YOU CAN EAT AND HANG OUT THERE EVERYDAY. IM NOT KIDDING EATHER. AND WHO KNOWS, OLE BUBBA MIGHT JUST SHOW UP FOR A CHEESEBURGER.

We were there for the Stars Fell on Alabama mega-phlocking in March. It was VERY enjoyable.
Of couse being there with a couple hundred of our new "bestest friends" always helps!
We went back before we left the area for another visit, too. Check out the website and the webcam.

Everyone was very friendly, the setting was GREAT since you're right on the water and get to watch
the ICW traffic go by, and the music was enjoyable. (Just try not to be too loud. )

Desdamona, thanks for the webcam link. That's really cool when you can actually control the camera shot. If I can show the play area to the keets, they'll be sold on it! Any time you can watch the keets play while sippin' on a boat drink next to the water is a good time. 8)

Do they ever have live music around lunch time? We would be there on a Saturday if it makes a difference.
