Well, I didn't get tickets for Jones Beach, BUT:

Ok .. this is a nice story ....

I work with a guy - Gavin and he has a daughter Amber, who is approx 18 months old and has never left hospital since she was born.

She has a lot of health issues and has a long road ahead of her. She cannot breathe unaided as their is major development problems in her windpipe area.

Anyway, I asked him today how she was going. His face just lit up.

Yesterday, she went home for the first time :D :D :D :D

It was only for two hours.

But think about it ...

This is the first time these parents took their little girl home. This was the first time she ever saw a car. The first time she ever saw a real dog.
The first time she saw her house. The first time she saw her own room.

All these little things that we take for granted each day - this little girl got to see for the first time!

It really made me smile that she was finally able to go home, and the parents got the joy they have been longing for so long!

She is expected home for an extended stay next week.

Jenny, thanks.

When I think of the stupid sh*t I pop my cork over and how harda$$ I can be with my kids, I just realized how selfish I have been. They are kids for godsake Bill, life is messy, clean it up.
These three little Keets of mine<<<<<<see aren't they cute? have brought me so much joy, happiness, laughs, tears, fears. But they are here and they are healthy. I can't even imagine going through something like the 18 months you just described. Take a chill pill,Bill and realize what you have.
Thank you so much Jenny.

I am positivitabitally (or however she typed it) grateful for my BN friends
Thanks, Jenny (again)

sniff, sniff,.......no I'm ok just got something in my eye....sniff, sniff

Well Cubbie I don't think I could have said it any better. Since my name is also Bill it was like I was having it read to myself.

We(everybody) need to remind ourselves everyday how precious life is and how many wonderful things truly fill our lives and let all the little bullsh*t fall by the way side.

Smiles, rum and fun from Florida. :D

Today, I have to get up in front of all 200 staff approx and do a role play - I can positively say I DO NOT LIKE doing role plays or speaking in front of that many people ....

But .. the positive thing? I have a good job, and I get paid more than most of those that I will be doing the role play in front of

Creeky, don't worry about it. It is stories like this that help remind us of all the positive things we do have and that no matter how much we b**** and complain about things, over all life is pretty good for most of us.

I for one needed the story today. I have been abit down about life and needed some perspective. Your story provided that, thanks.

I am happy that it is only 92 degrees and not 112 degrees.

I am postively jealous (but very happy) that my sister gets to spend three free nights at the Kona Four Seasons resort.

I am happy that next weekend I'll finally get to see New Orleans.

And now I am happy that Amber got to go home for a few hours.
I wanna go back to the Island...

See you in Boston, September 2nd!
