No, but in my eyes, this person has left himself open to preventive measures from the select group of people he is trying to scam. I am not taking money from him, just trying to make it harder for him to scam others. I guess I just don't see that as a "wrong".ph4ever wrote: two wrongs don't make a right.......

well no you're not taking money from him but anyone who would do that would be stooping as low as not lower as him. Also what you are suggesting at one point in the US was referred to as a lynch mob.
it's best to let the legal channels handle this

Lynch mob? I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with that analogy. Denial of Service, maybe, but lynch mob? You have stretched the meaning real thin.ph4ever wrote: well no you're not taking money from him but anyone who would do that would be stooping as low as not lower as him. In effect, what you are saying is that if I see a person breaking the law by sticking someone up, and I take away his means of doing that (by taking the gun), I have stooped lower than him AND denied him of his rights AND acted as judge/jury/executioner? Sorry, I just don't see it. I see this person as a threat to the well being of a group of people to which I belong. As such, I do not see the harm in defending myself and my group by denying him the opportunity to cause us harm.
It seems legal channels are not touching this guy because we (and FL police) have his phone numbers and aliases, but just as recently as last week he is still at it.

this person isn't sticking anyone up. He's not holding a gun on ANYONE. And anytime anyone takes justice into their own hands is what I mean by a lynch mob mentality. Have you personally filed a complaint with the authorities if you or your friends were personally effected?? You know justice does move slowly but what you are asking of people to do is just as wrong as what he's doing.Y-NO-9-O wrote:Lynch mob? I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with that analogy. Suppose he has a child or older adult at that address needs emergency medical attention but they can't get the phones to work because of your idea?? You said that you are defending yourself but it looks as if your idea is more of an act of revenge.
It's our responsibility to inform the public of what that guy is doing and that's it.

I would just call the police. If you orchestrate a DOS attack, you could be prosecuted and that would s***.Y-NO-9-O wrote:
There's no way this guy would try to get the police involved.
His numbers can be found in the Announcement posting.

I got ripped off by someone who used a Western Union/Ebay scam. There is not a whole lot you can do besides try to work it out with your bank, and contact the NFIC...

That sounds like the Mafia. Which is an organised mob. I have to agree with Connie hereY-NO-9-O wrote:Lynch mob? I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with that analogy. The point isn't worth debating. Basically 2 wrongs never will make a right. There is simply no justification taking the law into your own hands - period.Y-NO-9-O wrote:I think the word you are looking for is a vigilante.
