as many of you know, there is a scam artist on this site who uses western union as a method of payment. i am sad (and sort of embarrassed) to say that i am a victom.

since this has happened, ive lost all will to go to a concert, or even listen to the CD's in my car. ive even stopped re-reading "dont stop the carnival." i know this is not jimmys fault, and im not blaming him. but nothing has ever happened in my life to make me not want to go to a show. its weird.

so my words of wisdom for the day, do not trust ANYONE unless you know them. the world is a sad place :(

12 lb, I'm so sorry to hear you've been victimized by this person.

Make sure you don't have your phone number posted in any public forums. After seeing the thread from a couple of days ago I deleted my number from my entries in the ticket exchange forum. If you get any info on the clown, there are a couple of lawyers here that can probably give some advice.

12lb I am a police officer (30+ years in Chicago). I don't know exactly what happened but it appears that you were bilked out of money. A lot depends on the state you live in and what their opinion on where the theft occurred. If the person (rat) who stole your money lives in another state then the theft might have occurred when it actually took possession of the money. Normally if the rat used the mail then federal postal authorities could get involved for mail fraud. I don't know if the use of Western Union would eliminate this or not. I am so sorry to hear that this happened to you. I had always wanted to believe that the posters on this board are decent people that shared a common interest. It is a shame that one rat would target the decent posters. Keep you head up and don't let this get you too down.

I agree with Cubbie... someone post a prominent thread with all the details... perhaps in the ticket exchange as well as in news....

Does Western Union not have any contingency for fraud? At some point this guy has to go pick up his stolen money...

12lb pound - post all the details - numbers, names, anything you've got. There's enough law enforcement folks around this board that we should be able to find a way to get this guy...

If he used Western Union wouldn't that be wire fraud? I'm not a criminal lawyer but I think that's a federal offense.

Really sorry this happened to you 12lb. Let it slow you down but don't let this yahoo stop you from enjoying JB's music, phockings and concerts!!!!!!!!

We ran into a guy on the ticket exchange couple years ago looking for tickets to Vegas. Something just did not feel right. I suggested COD, no he says, send me a money order I will send the tickets. NO way pal, shortly after, he removed his post. They are a small minority, but they are out there.
