Ferry To Jones Beach?

i am coming from ma/ri so it could be tough to get there by then, do you mean or else the it will s*** for traffic, or else you want me there partying by then

Both! It will be well worth the extra $$$ to be in your hotel Friday night. That way you can leave your hotel by 7 and meet us there by 8 for breakfast and bloody mary's!
Worst case take a nap. We won't bother ya!

I'm also coming in from that area. If we're not at Port's by 6:00, and Jones Beach by 8:00 or so, we'll NEVER get there..... take Cape traffic on a Saturday morning and multiply by a factor of five.....

well worth it to head down to long island on Friday, I'm thinking.

I am not trying to argue with ya'll but my buddy says that since i will be traveling west to my hotel the traffic wont be as bad becuase everyone will be going west, either way i am still thinking of booking my hotel for the fri night too

that's true, to a point. but as soon as you get close to the beach itself it'll be a madhouse, and you might not be able to park.

Is there a limited amount of parking at the jones beach theater? Is there a separate parking lot for the theater and the beach? What happens when the lots get full? Sorry about all the questions I have never been to this arena

There's a free parking lot by the theater. At least it used to be free, I didn't go to any shows at the beach last year so I don't know if it still is. You have to pay at the other lots, it's $7 or $8. When the lots are full you're S-O-L.

Labor Day weekend, the free lot will be full by 9AM, maybe earlier. All this info is assuming the weather is nice. If it's raining you can make it to Jones Beach in 15 minutes and you'll have the lot practicaly to yourself.

I went in 2002 it didn't fill up to early we went to beach in AM because lot wasn't going to good yet were in lot by 1:00 still plenty of room it was free then, but Labor day weekend might be different. Leave Friday I did in 02 and am this year and would recomend staying Fri-Sun it will be a lot more relaxing not to have to rush there Sat AM. Also good group of people at the hotel.

Hi gang, I have been lurking here and wanted to help with some of the questions tha have been posted. I reside In Wantagh near Jones Beach. I haven't been to the beach yet this year, but in the past the lot at the theater has been a paid lot, same as the others till I believe 6pm. Same as the others. If you have a ticket to that nights show then I believe the parking is free. I am not 100% certain but this is what I recall. Also those of you staying at the best western, they are under construction right now and have very limited parking. I assume they will be done before the summer is over but be sure because there isn't much room to tailgate there. If I was going to be around that weekend then I would invite you all to the parties that I hold, but if I hear of any I will let you know.

but 2002 was on a Tuesday, not Saturday of Labor Day Weekend
