Texas Show on RM?!?

Post by asuwookie »

Does anyone know yet if the Texas show will be on RM? Or 99.5 the radio station sponsoring the show calling it "wolfapulza" Anything we can do to encouage this? I think it would be great exposure for Alan Jackson and George Strait as well as an awsome experience for fans too!
Thanks!

the Wolf will more than likely have spots from the show but as far is broadcasting it - highly unlikely

The RM shedule shows NO live broadcast that night. Probably to difficult to get rights from the different artists involved beyond JB. They've scheduled a concert replay in it's place.

Actually it's progably a smart move. Texas Stadium is the worst venue in Texas for a concert. Sound would be awful.....

I'll second that opinion!

I've seen some shows there where you couldn't make out what song was being played, much less what was being sung. The last time I saw George Strait there, you could hear the music, but the vocals were barely audible . . . possibly due in-part to our seat location, which caught a lot of echo and reverb.

I probably should add that while I agree the sound is usually awful, I've never let that keep me going to a show there. :wench:

I am!! I have!! Last time I went to a show there it was an absolute waste of my money. If I'm paying my hard earned money to see a show I want to be able to basically understand the words of the songs.

1.) it has a hole in the roof because God wanted to watch his team play.

2.) at the time Texas Stadium was built there probably wasn't a consideration made for the acoustics of concerts. In it's history it hasn't been host to too many concert considering the 6 or 7 other venues in the DFW area.

Is there another venue in the DFW area that could handle the number of people (or at least one that's on the drawingboard for the future)?

make that 8 venues

nope not now - unless you want to consider the plans for the new Cowboys stadium which has a lot of opposition right now because of the funding the Cowboys want to obtain from the city. If it does go thru the Cowboys will tear down one of the only amplitheater in the area.

The Cotton Bowl would hold quite a few people thou. It all depends on how many tickets were sold for the show. I know the radio station here is giving away TONS

Actually, I believe the Cowboys are about to get a new stadium in Fair Park, just outside of downtown Dallas. Gonna take a few years to build though.

Other than that, we have the new-ish American Airlines Center . . . I don't know what the seating capacity is there, but it's pretty good sized.

let's hope that dosn't go thru - they will destroy Starplex/Smirnoff/whatever. Not to mention all the conventions the city will loose......

I must admit, I haven't been keeping up with what's going on with this. When Arlington was trying to get the new stadium, they wanted to put it down the road from me. When they lost out, I just let out a big sigh of relief and stopped reading up on it too much.

I do remember seeing an animated graphic of the proposed stadium recently on the news, seemed like they might be getting closer to making the deal go through. Didn't know they would take out the ampitheater . . . that would s*** rocks! Again, not the best acoustical venue, but there's not really a bad seat in the house!

Not to mention, I think it would be a shame to mess with Fair Park that intrusively. I know the fascilities are a little dated, but the historical value of the area would be seriously damaged.

well it beats Texas Stadium 1000% acoustically. The DMN isn't reporting what would be destroyed as a result of teariing down the Cotton Bowl and rebuilding around the area. BUT the Observer has...
