You do not live in a state where pot is leagle. It is not leagle in any state. You may not have any state laws against it, but there are federal laws against it and federal law supercedes state law always !
phwtb wrote:Well... how can i say this without totally alienating everyone here as my friend... :o

I live in a state where pot IS LEGAL... it is not considered to be anything more than a beer. We are allowed to have pot, grow pot, and smoke pot however, they are very anti-smoking as far as regular tobacco is concerned...

I am a smoker (regular tabacco)... I gave pot up years ago. I try to be polite with my smoking and "step" away from non smokers. I smoke outside when i am at an event, whether inside or outside. I really do TRY to be polite, but some non-smoking folks just can't "give an inch"... They gripe no matter what.. they gripe until their griping turns insulting b*tching, and that is where I draw the line. If you don't want to stand beside me while I smoke, thank me for stepping away. If you don't want to smell smoke while you eat, thank me for sitting in the back bar, if you don't want it be around it at ALL when you go somewhere, DON'T GO!!

I don't drink like alot of you do, i would never even consider getting drunk at a concert, I don't smoke pot, I don't cuss, i don't start fights. I smoke and as such I furnish the government with a hell of a lot of tax dollars no one else has to pay, I support the "living life free" message that is so dominant in Buffett's music. I don't gripe because someone smokes pot, I don't gripe because someone can't control their drinking. I just simply step away from it...

"Judge not, least ye also shall be judged" is how I live my life... why can't everyone? If they want to smoke a dubby, smoke. If they want to drink, drink. If they want to fire up a Marlboro, I have a lighter...

Just my 2 cents....

Well, as you can tell, I spent too much time in the parking lot in high school instead of learning to spell.

Must be nice...how long has it been legal there...is it just medical marijuana that is legal?
Nope... it's legal for all who wish to partake. There are a few rules tho that you have to abide by... no smoking except at home (public consumption is a no-no), only allowed to have enough for self consumption (no stock piling basically), can't sell it to anyone, only enough plants to furnish your own supply... (reasonable quanities...) however, they do still drug test at most places because of this and they can still fire you for using it... that's why most people up here work for themselves i think... I know one guy who got caught sharing on the river bank. He was kinda lucky because he had a lot more than just one person would need, like about 10 times that amount, but noone was arrested. He did get a warning ticket for being on private property. They just made him go home...

oh.. lol.. i forgot the first question  and no, I ain't smokin'... it's always been legal here, in fact the people are kinda ticked now that they are putting so many restrictions on it...

You might be surprised at what you think is Federal Law and what it is that falls under "Color of Law"...

Details

Possession of marijuana is a criminal offense. Possession of less than 8 ounces of marijuana is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a fine of up to $1,000. Possession of less than one pound of marijuana is also a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $5,000. Possession of one pound or more of marijuana is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.

Possession of less than 25 plants is protected under the Alaska Constitution’s right to privacy (See Ravin v. Alaska). Possession of 25 or more marijuana plants is “Misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree” and is punishable by a fine of up to $50,000 or five years in prison.

Any possession within 500 feet of school grounds or a recreation center or possession on any school bus is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.

Sale of marijuana of less than one-half ounce and sale, delivery or manufacture of an amount from one-half ounce up to one ounce is a misdemeanor and is punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $5,000. For amounts of one ounce or greater, the crime is a felony which can be punished with a sentence of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.

It is an affirmative defense to possession, manufacture or delivery that the offender is a patient or caregiver who is registered with the state for medical use of marijuana.

Maintaining any structure or dwelling, including vehicles, to use for keeping and distributing marijuana, is a felony offense and punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.

Decriminalization: The state has decriminalized marijuana to some degree. Typically, decriminalization means no prison time or criminal record for first-time possession of a small amount for personal consumption. The conduct is treated like a minor traffic violation.

Medical marijuana: This state has medical marijuana laws enacted. Modern research suggests that cannabis is a valuable aid in the treatment of a wide range of clinical applications. These include pain relief, nausea, spasticity, glaucoma, and movement disorders. Marijuana is also a powerful appetite stimulant and emerging research suggests that marijuana's medicinal properties may protect the body against some types of malignant tumors, and are neuroprotective. For more information see NORML's Medical Marijuana section.

If you wanna smoke pot in the parking lot, go ahead. If you want to smoke anything in the venue you are wrong plain and simple. Knowing what we know about second hand cigarette smoke overshadows any " I have my rights" argument you can come up with. You have no right to infringe on anyone else's health in a public place period.

Wahhhhhhhhhh  Being next to someone who is smoking a joint is not going to kill you. Living in a house with them for a long time sure, but 5 minutes next to someone come on now......and I still say that if you are that worried and uptight about everything then maybe Buffett isn't really your type of show.

Boy it is surprising how many uptight Buffett fans there are.

Quit sweating the small stuff. Have fun. Relax.

Live as Buffett does.

I am an old PH lady. And I mean old. Been to many shows and seen all the fun we crazies have. The cigarettes are plain wrong and inconsiderate, but the occasional lighting up of a joint I can handle. Guess that's weird ... my husband feels the same way. The smell and smoke from weed is just not as offensive. This from a former school marm!

I agree . . . the Denver Show was great!

It did not bother me that it was smokey or not. I guess some things don't bother me . . .

Well, vomit would . . . . but that's not the question.

Well, I haven't been around to follow this thread and I don't feel like reading 6 pages worth so maybe i'm repeating what others have said, but since the beginning of time weed and concerts have gone together. If someone has breathing difficulties they should say something and most of the time at a Buffett show the pholks will be considerate enough to move away from them to smoke up as I'm sure Steelhead would have been. If you don't have breathing difficulties, then chill the f*ck out and quit yer bitchin'!! It's a concert for christ's sake! :-?

I cant stand people bitching about pot. Alcohol is alot worse for your body then weed. Alcohol kills tons of brain cells and makes people go crazy. Have you ever seen someone go crazy on pot. Anyways its a rock concert it always going to happen indoors and out so quit your bitchin. Ill be at nissan and yes ill will be smokin it up. If you dont like it stay home and listen to your fn cds. If anything pot should be legal before alcohol. Just like ben harper says if you dont like my fire THEN DONT COME AROUND.
