Jimmy Buffett's Own Needlefish Pillow Up for Auction

Hello--I found your discussion forum while searching for parrotheads online. I volunteer for a charitable foundation--Love Without Boundaries (www.lovewithoutboundaries.com) that provides lifesaving nutrition, medical care, and education for China's "lost" children--those who are in orphanages that do not benefit from international adoption funds.

We were blessed a few months ago to receive a pillow Jimmy had signed and designated for charitable purposes. The pillow was in Jimmy's house for 10 years, and has hand-embroidered needlefish on the front. We are about to begin the online auction where this pillow will be available, and I was hoping you could help me spread the word about it. I would love for every faithful parrothead I can find to know that this pillow is up for bid, and that we are hoping it will provide funds for at least one heart surgery for a child in China. We see so many blue faces of dying heart children on our trips to China it's just become a "normal" thing, and our goal is to provide surgery for every child we possibly can.

You can read about our foundation at

www.lovewithoutboundaries.com

AND see the photo of the pillow at

I need to get word out about this pronto, as the auction is scheduled to begin on June 3 and will end June 7. We were SO thrilled to get this incredible item and we want to share it with the whole parrothead world!!

Please contact me with any questions--I am a huge Jimmy Buffett fan myself and not surprised at all at his generosity.

Regards,

I don't know if this might be of any benefit to you, but I am headed to China this August. If I might be able to work something into my trip that could benefit you and what you are fighting for I would be glad to help. My itinerary includes Beijing, Shanghi and Hong Kong.

Let me know if my stops could help.

Thanks SO MUCH Bill!! I will let Amy Eldridge, one of our board members, know. She is always looking for people to take over medical supplies or other things that can be hand-carried, then mailed in China to minimize costs.

Not that I'm being picky, but just in the name of accuracy: you may want to edit your website. "Buffett" has two "t's" in it.

THANKS!!! I am a writer and really hate those kinds of mistakes. I will have the web master change it so that it doesn't look like the "all you can eat" word. ;-)

You know, I usually don't bid on items this early in an auction....but since the name of the game here is raising money for sick kids, I made an exception - I figure, the higher it goes, the better - and it doesn't really matter if I win the pillow or not. :D

The bidding is on!!!

You all are GREAT!!! And yes, I can tell you from experience that these kids are incredible and have very little chance without the money raised by auctions and other fundraisers like this. A team of 20 people just returned Memorial Day from Shantou, China to perform surgeries for 48 cleft lip and palate children, and I have many photos I can share if anyone is interested.

I LOVE that cat animation (with the eyes flashing)!
