Summer Movies

Post by jackaneer »

What movies are you looking forward to this summer? I'm going to see The Day After Tomorrow this weekend. After that I'll be waitng for I, Robot, Spider-Man 2 and the Bourne Supremacy. Also, though I'm a little embarrased to admit it, Alien vs. Predator.

Just saw "Shrek 2" and it was great! Hilarious, and I would say as good as, if not better than, the first.

I want to see "Troy" and two other movies I recently saw trailers for: "The Terminal" (directed by Speilberg and starring Tom Hanks--you can't go wrong there) and "The Two Brothers."

Also, a friend recently dragged me to see "Mean Girls" and it was better than I thought it would be.

Spider-man 2, Anchorman, and Dodgeball.

This year I'm not as excited about the summer movies as in previous years. It seems like there's not as many big movies out this year.

Just saw Troy last night, was OK, not the epic movie it was made out to be, but still enjoyable. I basically sat through the movie making mental notes of all the historical inaccuracies :D

See, I keep telling my girlfriend I'm doing other moviegoers a service by letting them know what's wrong with the movie, but she just covers her face and walks a few steps behind me on the way out of the theater! Some people don't understand.

My 2 teenage daughters went to see it. (Brad Pitt in a lioncloth! OMG!)
They said there is a scene with an umbrella in the background that has a crank to raise it like in our back yard.

No, missed that one.

I took 6 years of Latin and 2 years of Attic Greek so I was mainly concerned with plot defects, scenes omitted, and general straight up errors - for instance the Greek ships only had one bank of oars per side but should have had three, or the Trojan Horse was supposed to be too large to fit thru the gates of Troy, so the Trojans actually ripped down parts of the walls to get it inside. Yeah, I know, I'm hopeless...
