I don't recall reading that "No Woman, No Cry" was going to be on the album. That's not to say it hasn't been mentioned but if it was, I never saw it.
This doesn't pertain to the tracklist but I remember reading a short article in Rolling Stone last summer that mentioned Buffett was considering a duet with Cyndi Lauper for the new album (sorry, I forget the song or even if a specific one was listed). I don't think this article ever made it to the online version of the magazine because I've tried to look it up before to no avail.

09 Anything Anytime Anywhere (Bruce Cockburn)
I'm taking off No Woman No Cry and adding "Piece of Work," since Will says that his song was recorded in December in Key West.
I also added Anything Anytime Anywhere by Bruce Cockburn

He case anybody doesn't know this, but Jimmy did record that song with Evangeline in the early 90's.conched wrote:Has anyone read anything about what Nanci Griffith will sing on the new cd? Wouldn't it be great if Jimmy actually recorded "Gulf Coast Highway" with her? I love the version of that with Mac McAnally.
Darius Rucker (Hootie) also did an excellent duet with Nanci.

I'm not sure if it's the same duet you're referring to but I gained newfound respect for Hootie when they covered Vic Chesnutt's Gravity of the Situation for the Sweet Relief benefit album for Vic a few years back. I also saw him show up at a Nanci Griffith show in Raleigh to sing a duet when she was on the Newport Folk Festival Tour a few years ago. He also made an appearance during one of the Furthur Festival stops there in the mid-90s. It's was almost like they kept Darius backstage that summer just in case of an emergency.Jimmy Dreams In Omaha wrote:He case anybody doesn't know this, but Jimmy did record that song with Evangeline in the early 90's.conched wrote:Has anyone read anything about what Nanci Griffith will sing on the new cd? What would be interesting would be if Jimmy sung a song with Norah Jones. That would sell.Ilph wrote:Jahfin wrote:This doesn't pertain to the tracklist but I remember reading a short article in Rolling Stone last summer that mentioned Buffett was considering a duet with Cyndi Lauper for the new album .Well, that would be, um, interesting...

Interesting that you mentioned the Michael McCloud song. We saw him play at Schooners Wharf in December and he said that not "The Conch Republic Song", but another song called "Just Came Down for the Weekend" was going to be on LTC.
When you are known as a rascal, there's a good bet you showed off your a$$!
