Does anyone know if LTC is going to be a double album or going to have a bonus disk? If not, I think RCA Nashville intends on riping us new ones.

LTC on Amazon: High Price
I just noticed that PH Jim has added a link to Amazon's LTC page to the top banner. The page is still obviously under construction, but the cover art is there, as well as a price of $18.98!!

That's the RIAA at work for ya! Welcome to working with one of the BIG 5.
$18.98 is a standard list price for a CD in 2004. And the record companies can't figure out why people "steal" music from P2P.
In all seriousness, do one of three things.
1 - Buy it the first week it comes out when most larger stores will offer it at a reduced cost. Best Buy, et al often offer new releases at $9.99 the first week and then return them to wholesale or list price the next.
2 - Buy it via iTunes for $9.99. You won't get the cover work, but it will be cheaper.
3 - Buy it directly from Mailboat. I'm not sure how this release will work, but artists typically get more of the cut if the disc is ordered through their web site or merchandising.
Trust me, you will be able to find this disc for less than $18.98.

Re: LTC on Amazon: High Price
Oddly enough, that's also the same price CDs cost when they were first introduced on the market back in the 80s. Not to worry though, as others have mentioned, I'm sure you'll be able to find bargain prices elsewhere once the CD is officially released.Parrot Monkey wrote:I just noticed that PH Jim has added a link to Amazon's LTC page to the top banner. Don't let that get to you. $18.98 is a standard list price. Most releases by "name" artists carry that list price. Norah Jones was an $18.98 list from day one, yet on street date, that thing was $9.99 everywhere. RCA/BMG has the $$ to buy into price and positioning programs with most major retailers and will likely do so. The $18.98 list helps offset some of the cost.
Look I'm a little slow today, I just switched to Sanka, so have a heart.
