Last August Mrs Goodman joined me at Stephen Talkhouse to see Jerry Jeff Walker. it being Amagansett the prices are dear but the closeness of the venue to the artist and the crowd made it worth the fare. I was seated next to a young fella from NJ looked a little like Kevin James (but much thinner). We talked some before the show about JB & JJW. Kevin stayed after the show for the meet & greet. I headed back to Seaford.
Well last nite in NYC at BBKing's I bumped into Kevin and his fiance Jen at the show. This is amazing cause we recognized each other yet he forgot abut the $50 he loaned me.
Jerry Jeff was in excellent form- did Railroad Lady to cement the Buffett connection and even old Harry Stonebeck- Stoney was there. Rodeo Cowboy, Jaded Lover, Mr. Bojangles, The Cape Song (Gonzo Stew), Redneck Mother, London HomesickBlues, Navago Rug, Charlie Dunn, Trashy Woman.
Was seated with some friends of his from NJ- real nice folks including Meryl Streep and Tommy Bahama(?) Have a great time in Italy. Be sure and see the Spanish stairs.
Kevin-I'll let you know real soon about those JB tickets for Jones Beach.
JJW when you gonna do- "Leavin Texas", Contrary to Ordinary, "Ramblin Scramblin, Down the Road?
I was the guy with the long sleeved blue JJW t-shirt.
See ya somewhere!
