Coral Reefer Band vs. Coral Reefer Orchestra?
I noticed in a thread the other day someone referred to the current CRB as the "Coral Reefer Orchestra." With all the horns, singers, dancers, etc., today's Buffett shows are certainly a spectacle when compared to the YHTBT days. So that made me start thinking - which do I prefer? The original, slimmed down Coral Reefer Band or the current Coral Reefer "Orchestra?"
Having seen two of three options listed above in person, I can admit its a tough decision. For the past few days I've listened to a variety of live shows - the "Live In" series from last year, YHTBT, the 1980 radio special that's floating around the net (sharingingthegroove.org) and the East Hampton shows (Jimmy, acoustic guitars and a bit of percussion).
I have to say I prefer the Coral Reefer Orchestra or acoustic Jimmy, despite the fact most of my favorite albums are pre-1980.

I think it was meant tongue-in-cheek. But, what is a guitar?prrthd1987 wrote:Doesn't an orchestra HAVE to have strings to be an orchestra?

I can't think of a Buffett show I would turn down!jollymon345 wrote:It was tough to chose between the Orchestra and the Acoustic but I would take the whole big blown up party any time. I won't turn down an acoustic set as an occasional special treat though.
