It's a tie for me between Frank's Pizza in Rocky Mount and Mike's in Blacksburg. Both have unique ways of making pizza and both are #1 in other food catagories as well. Mikes has the best hamburger I have ever had and Frank's has the best Steak and Cheese sub I ever had. Darn I am hungry right now :D

Ten years ago I would have said Stavros Pizza in Emmitsburg, Maryland. But the sun has set on that pizza.

Now it's Crozet Pizza, Crozet, VA (west of Ch'ville)

Get the pepperoni/pineapple!

Now this is a post I can relate to. Pizza is my favorite topic. Currently my favorite "bar" pizza is in Toledo, OH, The Distillery; chain restaurant pizza is Papa Johns.

In Knoxville, the best pizza is at my favorite bar "Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria"(http://www.barleystaproom.com/knoxville/). Great pizza, great drinks, and it's in the Old City.

The best pizza in East Tennessee is definately at "Big Ed's Pizza" in Oak Ridge(home of the atomic bomb).

My favorite kind of pizza is Pepperoni/Pineapple!

If it is Meateater with BBQ sauce - it can be from anywhere and it is good!

That being said - I cant go past the Pizza Hut and the "unlimited pickup pizza for 3.95" coupons I have - considering it is a 5 minute walk from my house :D

Chuck's made-from-scratch pizza at the Angle Inn in Walford, Iowa.
PIZZA TO DIE FOR! Add a few cold Coronas with that, and you're in Heaven.

Long ago there was a 'chain' called Godfather's pizza.. Tons of cheese.. that was my favorite. Now? It would be probably from Beau Jo's here in the Denver area. :)

I remember that! The crust was AWESOME! I love ALL pizza. There is no such thing as too much cheese. The BEST I ever had was from a place by NJPhinPhan's house in New Jersey. I wish I knew the name of it. The crust was what I call "boardwalk" and it had the perfect blend of cheese, plus thin slices of (fried?) eggplant. I made a pig of myself. YUMMMMMM.........

Godfathers is still around here in the Northwest but I wouldn't eat there on a dare.

Vinces is a local chain started by an Italian gentlman who came over in the 50's (i think) The family still owns every resturant. And Damn do they know how to make pizza. There is a bar also in the University District in Seattle called The Northlake Tavern. Great pizza there too but it's standing room only on any Friday/Saturday night.

There's a Barley's in Greenville, SC, which is great. I love their pizza and calzones. In Clemson, I'd say it would be Peppino's or Mellow Mushroom.

I worked at a place (pretty much ran it acutally) for about 7 or 8 years. Best pizza I ever had. The place closed in '98, and I still get people coming up to me asking when/if the owner is going to open a shop nearby.

There's a place around the block from my office that comes fairly close to this. My favorite is thin crust, with pepperoni, sausage, and bacon - a cardiac special, as I so lovingly call it :D

I also remember Godfather's and l liked their pizza a lot. As far as local pizza I haven't really had any I'm crazy about so I'm going with Pizza Hut's stuffed crust.
