I would suggest Sloppy Joes...but can't vouche for how fresh the stuff might be. Kelly's has great food as well.

Personally, I'd just take a taxi over to Pepe's on Caroline Street...or hit any of the other places near there (Half Shell, Turtle Karral, etc.)

Back at the top of Duval, take a right to Schooner Warf which has some great restaurants and it get's you into the boating frame of mind. Saw Jimmy at Shrimpboat sound in December recording the new album - a real nice surprise.


If you want to do some kind of boat cruise - take the Fury Catamaran - snorkel and then all you can drink all the way home - done it a bunch of times and all the crews are great.

Sloppy's is a great bar. For a Key West seafood experience, try BO's Fish Wagon. 801 Caroline St. I enjoyed Crabby Dick's as well.

I am going to Key West over July 4th. Has anyone used any of the local dive operators to go scuba diving? I plan on diving at least one day, but there are several operators. I would also like to go out on a sail boat. Any help would be appreciated.

Crap! Got notice today that the only "Trails of Margaritaville" tour will be at 4:00pm, 2 hours after we pull out of port. Can anybody that's been on this tour before help me generate a list of the stops along the tour. I can attempt to do a "mini-tour" on my own. Thanks guys!

as I recall it (and keep in mind we had excessive amounts of alcohol), it starts at Captain Tony's on Greene Street heads up Duval to the Chart Room located in the Pier House Resort. (this is really hidden and may require asking to locate). After leaving the Chart Room it passes Jimmy's first house on the island and heads to Shrimp Boat Sound and Schooners Wharf. From there it takes a route along Caroline Street where the guide (Magic Frank) points out the house where the lady lived that inspired "a women going crazy on Caroline Street. After that it goes to the Bull on Duval Street and ends up at Margaritaville. I might have missed something but I think that is everything!

sorry..one other point. I would not recommend Sloppy Joes for lunch. I can't speak to the food but given its location it generally gets packed for lunch when the cruises get in. Keep in mind there may be up to 4 cruise ships carrying thousands of people. Sloppys is kinda the epicenter of key west and tends to get crowded. I would head off Duval Street for lunch. Kelly's is a perfect spot on Whitehead with a great atmosphere...trust me on this!

Kelly's is a bit pricey. Crabby Dicks upstairs on Duval is great and reasonable. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees, meaning Margaritaville is pretty damn good. Mahi Mahi, is primo, Conch Chowder is good, whole menu is very good. As always, G.M., Jr.
