Grateful Dead - Closing of Winterland

I was wondering if anyone bought this four disk album yet. I am considering purchasing it. Closing of Winterland looks to be a good set, appreciate any input....Thanks

Our local PBS station is offering a 4 hour Dead Winterland 2 DVD set for a $120.00 donation - http://www.whyy.org for anyone interested. They have been airing parts of it tonight, pretty cool :D

I haven't bought the disc yet, but I saw the DVD and it was VERY good.....Love that live DEAD at high quality sound.....

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I wouldn't waste my money on anything by the Dead. I always thought their music was one of the best cures for insomnia.

I could understand that if you're referring to their live shows but the majority of their studio material consists of songs that range from 3 to 5 minutes. I prefer a lot of their studio work to the live versions myself but there are some live moments that surpass the original studio recordings.

I've never seen them live so I'm just going by what I've heard on the radio. I always found them boring.

Fair enough. Chances are if you don't like their studio stuff you probably wouldn't of liked them live but you never know. I've heard some people say if you don't like Springsteen that you should go see him live. Whatever works for ya...
