I realize I'm pretty new here, but I've seen enough to realize that Jahfin and ph4ever are both probably nice, helpful people that just don't get along and aren't going to. Just freakin ignore one another and don't start, finish or encourage this ***** already. It doesn't make things fun for anyone, it doesn't change anyone else's opinion, it just gets people all p*** off and it frankly really makes me wonder if I want to get to know anyone involved in this thread, maybe even on this board, any better.

Go check the latest Chesney thread in the Jimmy Buffett Discussion area of the message board and see the bias I speak of. I don't know how many people have come on here referring to Chesney as a "wanna be" or out and out saying he "sucks" but let me offer an honest opinion about one person's concert going experience that resorts to no bad mouthing whatsoever and you would think I had committed some atrocious act.
i was referring to the number of PMs i have gotten in response to my posts
and why are you taking it personally if people think chesney sucks or is a wannabe?i dont agree with either of those statements but it sure as hell doesnt affect me.so why get upset?
You must of misunderstood what I was saying. I don't take offense to those comments but others understandably do because they usually are not backed with any sort of reasoning as to why they dislike Chesney so much. I'm referring to how a post I made on one person's Chesney concert experience (that resorted to none of those sorts of put downs) which was nothing other than my own honest opinion resulted in me being singled out and chastized.
Jah what is going on here is you are attacking people who you know nothing about. Thus, when others come along and see you ridiculous statements about others, they think to themselves "This dude is an idiot, Connie is not Narrow minded" Therefore, they post to try to tell you that you are wrong. At that you then decide to attack that person. The process then keeps repeating. Just cool the jets Jah and try to get along. What are you trying to prove? Because I don't think it is working.

Again, I did NOT attack the person in question but rather, commented on their experience at a Kenny Chesney concert. Apparently how I worded it upset some people. There's really nothing I can do about that because if I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't word it any differently because I saw nothing whatsoever offensive or rude in how I worded my comments. What I find strange is that I am singled out for merely stating an opinion but other say much more rude things seemingly without consequence. Since I have been here I have seen Tommcat continually make rude and offensive comments but I've just learned it is ok to do so if you know someone here on a personal level. By some people's accounts, they would have you believe that every post I make here is an attack on someone or is always negative when that isn't true at all. I don't know about you but when I see someone celebrating an artist's (or whoever the person may be) suicide, I find it inexcusable. Then to find out they did it only for the sole purpose of getting a rise out of me, that is makes it even more offensive because apparently this kind of behavior is allowed just because some people here know Tommcat on a personal level. That to me is wrong. It seems none of my other posts are taken into account when being attacked by some of you, all you tend to remember are the posts you don't like which is why I think many of you tend to have a selective memory when it comes to my posts here.

Coconuts makes a very valid point. For whatever it's worth, I wasn't trying to fuel the fire, just trying to ease the tension a little!

Can't we all just get along???

I don't have a problem with that at all as long as we're all held to the same standards, which apparently isn't the case around here. I came to this site as a Jimmy Buffett fan, not to be constantly put under scrutiny for every thing I post and how I post it.

damn...I stay away for a few days and all hell breaks loose AGAIN
I'm not going to sit here and preach....I personally know both Tom and Jahfin on a semi personal level....both are AWESOME people....both have thier own opinion.....Connie...I love you to death too....
I guess im going to be honest and say that had I been here when TC posted that suicide comment I'd of jumped on it first....there are just some subjects that are pretty personal to some people...and im sure we all have them....So I can see why someone made that comment....
It's kind of funny....this thread was suppose to be about Creed, switched to suicide then ended up in a battle....I know we cant all get along....but maybe we all need to take things a lil lighter....
I see allllllllllll points.....not just one or the other.....but let sleeping dogs lie damn it....it's ridiculous.....I'll tell you, I would hate to ALWAYS worry about how I was posting things....(and trust me I have in alot of ways at times)....It SUX.....
I dont wanna hear he said, she said....he said...LET IT GO!!!!!!!!!

i had 2 friends shoot themselves in the melons in highschool so i have been affected by suicide jah.the difference is that i dont go out looking for things to offend me like you do.there are lots of things i've dealt with in life,it doesnt mean they are subjects that cant be talked about or joked about.you just need to stop being so damn oversensitive about everything.i bet you could get offended just walking down the street.i find lots of things offensive, but i just deal with it.thats life

if we werent talking about jah i would agree with you lisa.but no matter what gets posted or who posts it he always seems to get offended by something.quite a few posts always seem to go by with nobody freaking out, then 3 pages later here comes jah

this is not just a case of me antagonizing someone(which i admit i do sometimes).he seems so have problems with a large number of people here, which is clearly indicated by numerous threads that have gone on.

I don't go around looking for things to offend me but I'm not so sure the same thing could be said about those that are constantly holding my posts up to the light looking for things to criticize me for. And according to what you posted earlier, you made your comments about Kurt Cobain for the sole purpose of getting a rise out of me. Well, if that was your intention, it worked. As far as finding a subject like suicide humorous, you may find it so but I sure don't.

And the moral of the story is suicide isnt fun.
Now lets move on to the creed vs. nirvana argument, whose worse, and is it somewhat ironic that the cobain suicide thing came up in this and creed sang like a dozen songs about suicide.

No contest: Creed.
Nirvana was actually a great band, whether you enjoyed their music or not. They were 10 years ahead of their time.
Creed was 10 years behind their time and likely wouldn't have found an audience of Pearl Jam hadn't been KOed by Ticketmaster.

Yes Rodney, we can.
