Here we go again - Buffett/Chesney...

Post by cartmill72 »

The Columbus Dispatch today featured a syndicated article from last week's Milkwaukee Journal Sentinel entitled "Claim That Tune! - Here's How To Choose Your Summer Anthem."

http://www.jsonline.com/onwisconsin/mus ... 232818.asp

Several different personalities/lifestyles are presented with "your" summer anthem pre-selected. So what does this have to do with Buffett and Chesney?

From the article...

Parrothead paradise

Summer is your season. Yes, you wear shorts, Hawaiian shirts and flip-flops year-round, but it's a whole lot more comfy for you in the warm months than during the Wisconsin winter. Plus, in summer, an ice-cold can of beer doesn't freeze to your fingers and lips.

Most of the fruit in your diet is delivered in pina colada or margarita form. You have a shrine to Jimmy Buffett in your living room. Tiki torches are your primary source of lighting when the sun goes down.

Speaking of which, that's your summer anthem: the Kenny Chesney / Uncle Kracker duet, "When the Sun Goes Down."

I was just merely passing along info. But now that I go back and see the other thread reached 10 freaking pages, I realize the possible mistake I've made.

I have no problem with KC. I like him better than most other country artists, but I'm just not into country.

But Helloooo- we're parrotheads, you think our summer anthem might be License to Chill?!! Or Hey Good Lookin? Or any other Buffett song?!!

I didn't want to start another thread about Kenny, but since someone else did, I'll post this too. This is a local magazine that did an article on Kenny. You can't read the whole article without buying the magazine, but the part about Jimmy is online. It's kinda humorous since in the early days all kenny's fans wanted him to play was Buffett songs!
