Parrothead Pimping--Small Businesses in Denver and Phoenix

Post by buffettbride »

Hello! This is some somewhat shameless pimping on my part, but I want to help fellow PHs out!!

Please send me a PM by Thursday June 10th as all submissions must be sent in by June 11th!!!

As some of you know, I work for Qwest. Our latest ad campaign is to feature small businesses in Denver and Phoenix (small meaning home-based, entrepreneurial start-ups, seasonal businesses and small companies with several locations). If you meet these qualifications and you have saved time or money because of Qwest, have grown with the help of Qwest small-business products and services, or that left Qwest and then came back then this might be a good opportunity for free advertising.

Please send me a PM by Thursday June 10th as all submissions must be sent in by June 11th!!!

I hope I can help!!!!

Mallory

Qwest is looking for these types of businesses to participate in photo shoots in Denver and Phoenix for their upcoming ad campaign. If you are interested, I can submit your company information and Qwest will contact you if they are interested.

AF - If there's anything I can help you with (good or bad) please send me a PM. I can't speak to whatever processes or guidelines whomever may follow to determine when and how customers or potential customers are called...but if you're mad at the company I will at least try to help.

i left qwest for a local/long distance package with AT&T when the former band of thieves (called upper management) was robbing the company blind.

the problem appears to be that qwest uses multiple telemarketing firms and qwest doesn't provide them with a common "do not call" list. so when i tell one company not to call, the others never hear about it....

I'd feel bad for you, but I have no soul.....

Unfortunately that happens all over the industry (it's icky). When I worked for Sprint we had the same problems. Many companys use several telemarketing firms so obviously they are not in communication with one another. In Colorado there's actually a statewide no call list so we are fairly lucky in that respect. I wish there was something more I could do to help.

Like I said...it's not my favorite place to work, but I try to help out when I can.

the telemarketers are all very nice, pleasant, and very professional. not the usual $.03 / hr lowlifes most firms use.... the big problem is phone companies are legally exempt from having to use do not call lists....

Phone companies as a whole are not exempt, but a company is exempt if you are already a customer. So, if I have Qwest service at home, then Qwest can call me whenever they want to try and upsell me Qwest services.

However, if you use AT&T for your local services AND have Qwest for none of your services AND are on the no-call list (by state law), then Qwest shouldn't be calling you.

Does that make more sense?

i thought the federal no call list rules superceded state regulations. they were talking about it alot in california, because ca's rules were so much stricter and they didn't want to lose them. i thought under the fed rules, phone companies, charities, newspapers, political organizations, and polls were exempt.

That could be. There might be discrepancies about phone companies mainly because instead of just being one local phone company in certain states, it's more of a competetive industry rather than a "public service" like other utilities (gas, electric, water).

Now you got me thinking about this....Here's the CO law:
http://www.coloradonocall.com/index.cfm ... ion=exempt

And the California FAQs:
http://caag.state.ca.us/donotcall/faq.htm

Both laws are in place for consumers, not businesses, so if you are referring to your business or place of employment, that could be why you continue to get calls.
