What looney bin did you climb out of this morning....
What exactly are we suppose to be comparing? women, food, nightlife, Jimmy Buffett concerts, etc...

And all across the harbour
Night lights shinin' in
It looks just like stars on the water
"Always keep the places you love in your heart and you will never be too far away."

Can't decide.....love both very very much. I love the way you can walk around downtown with drinks....WAIT! I choose New Orleans. They have a big Margaritaville there, better food and drink. And you get to wear beads all year round. And you can pull up your shirt, and get rewards instead of jail time!
But I never did that, I swear. I DO have a closet with over 75 Nawlins beads hanging, including two fancy Margaritaville necklaces and three lighted ones.

Now, this is a tough question. There are few things on this earth better than a hot beignet and coffee with chickory. However, the love of my life, my husband, is a Nashville native, and we live in Nashville. I grew up roughly 2 hours from N'awlins and made regular road trips there until I moved a little further north. The food in the Big Easy can't be beat, unless my own kitchen is included. As a cajun, I hold my food up as the best. My family is also filled with commercial fishermen and shrimpers so getting fresh seafood in a landlocked state isn't as difficult for me as it would be for someone else. I can honestly say that Nashville smells better. N'awlins always smells like stale beer and p***. Nashville also manages to be cooler and less humid than N'awlins. Southern Lousiana is best visited in early November or late January/early February depending on when Fat Tuesday, Ash Wednesday occur in the calendar year. Plus, N'awlins has Pat O'Brien's, more sex shops then anywhere else, great graveyards, and daiquri kiosks in the mall. Nashville has country stars considered normal, great bars, a hockey team, a NFL team, a minor league baseball team, and awesome live events involving music/sports superstars. So, I love both cities. Picking between the two would be impossible for me. I could continue to ramble, but y'all get the jist of my conflict. Oh, and N'awlins has this wonderful Christmas shop close to Margaritaville that sells handpainted Gone With the Wid arnaments. I can't end without mentioning the French MArket, D-Day Museum, and Aquarim. . . . . Nashville has sports, the Rhyman, Grand Ole Opry. . .
GEAUX SAINTS!!! and GEAUX TIGERS!!!

The locals have a word for that smell and dark liquid gunk on Bourbon Street.........BUB! (beer-urine-barf). I tripped over a manhole and fell in the bub once...got it all over my white shirt. It came out really well, though. And I was sober. I got up so fast, my friends thought they didn't really see me fall.
Now it's their favorite Linda/Nawlins story. I don't particular find it funny.
Bub is nasty, wear shoes that cover your entire foot or be prepared to scrub your feet when you get back to the hotel.
You CAN wear your flipflops in Nashville.

You're just full of information. If I ever get around to going to New Orleans can I hire you as my tour guide?Coconuts wrote:All the time. Oh yeah- the river cruise from the same kiosk as the Gray Line tours stand is a waste of time and money. I think you see one battlefield and 150 warehouse docks.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here
